ANXIETY AS APC SUPPORTERS YANK EMIR OF KANO, SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI'S PORTRAIT OFF GOV. GANDUJE'S OFFICE AFTER VICTORY-

For the cerebral Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi of Kano, this times call for extra vigilance.

His portrait sitting as a mark of love and respect at the official domain of the Kano State governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, had been yanked off; no thanks to enraged supporters of the governor.

The Status learned that the Emir never supported the second term bid of Ganduje, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) but favoured the candidacy of Abba Yusuf of the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP).
Although, the Emir reportedly veiled his support for Yusuf while the campaign lasted and through the first leg of the governorship election in the State, his public statements and body language allegedly gave him away as having soft spot for Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Ganduje's immediate predecessor and Yusuf's godfather.

Ganduje defeated Yusuf to win a second term.

The Status could not confirm if as alleged Governor Ganduje ordered the removal of the Emir's portrait, which fueled the fear the monarch could be dethroned on flimsy political reasons.
