LABOUR PARTY PRESS RELEASE: STOP THE POLITICAL DESECRATION OF THE TEACHING PROFESSION — A WARNING TO THE "YAYI TEACHERS MEDIA GROUP"

LABOUR PARTY, OGUN STATE CHAPTER

DATE: March 21, 2026

STOP THE POLITICAL DESECRATION OF THE TEACHING PROFESSION: A WARNING TO THE "YAYI TEACHERS MEDIA GROUP"*

The attention of the Ogun State Chapter of the Labour Party has been drawn to a series of misleading videos and social media campaigns orchestrated by a group styling itself as the "YAYI Teachers Media Group." This group claims to represent the collective voice of teachers in Ogun State in support of the gubernatorial ambitions of Senator Solomon Olamilekan (Yayi) under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

We find it necessary to set the record straight and protect the "good citizens of Ogun State" from this orchestrated campaign of misinformation.

1. *Misleading the Public*

The nomenclature "YAYI Teachers Media Group" is a deliberate attempt to create a false impression that the noble teachers of Ogun State—both in public and private service—have abandoned their neutrality to become political appendages of a partisan interest. This is a gross insult to the thousands of teachers who remain committed to their professional ethics.

2. *Violation of Extant Civil Service Rules*

The Labour Party wishes to remind the promoters of this group that Public Servants (including public school teachers) are strictly governed by laws that forbid partisan political campaigning while in active service.

Ogun State Public Service Rules (PSR): Specifically, Rules 04401, 04402, and 04406 prohibit civil servants from participating in partisan political activities, attending political rallies, or acting as "canvassers" for candidates.

National Precedent: In 2016, the Ogun State Civil Service Commission sanctioned several workers for similar partisan displays during the World Teachers Day celebration, citing these exact rules.

Professional Misconduct: Under Nigerian Educational Law, engaging in activities that bring the profession into disrepute or violate the neutrality of the classroom is a ground for disciplinary action, ranging from suspension to outright dismissal.

3. *The Constitutional Boundary*

While we acknowledge the Supreme Court’s ruling in INEC vs. Musa (2003) regarding the right of association, the law is clear: a public servant's right to belong to a party does not grant them the right to use their professional identity (as "Ogun Teachers") to conduct public campaigns. Partisanship in the discharge of duty is a "red line" that maintains the stability of our democracy.

4. *Our Call to Action*

To the Head of Service and Ministry of Education: We call on the Ogun State Government to investigate the individuals behind the "YAYI Teachers Media Group." If they are indeed public servants, they must be held accountable to the Civil Service Rules to prevent the total collapse of discipline in our schools.

To Our Teachers: Do not allow yourselves to be used as political shields. Your reward should not just be in heaven, but also in a state that respects your professional boundaries today.

To the General Public: Disregard these videos. They do not represent the silent majority of educators who are more concerned with the dwindling standards of education and their welfare than with the 2027 ambitions of any politician.

The Labour Party remains the only platform committed to the true empowerment of workers and the restoration of dignity to the classroom.

..... SUSPENDS ERRING MEMBERS

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Labour Party has approved the timetable for the conduct of its primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections. At a well-attended statutory NEC meeting held on Tuesday, 17th March 2026, and duly observed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Party, in compliance with the Electoral Act and INEC’s guidelines, approved the following schedule:

1. Submission of Membership Register to INEC – April 15, 2026

2. Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly Primaries – Friday, May 15, 2026

3. Presidential Primary Election – Saturday, May 23, 2026

NEC also noted with satisfaction and ratified the actions of the National Leadership of the Party regarding the conduct of Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses scheduled for March 26, 28, and 31, 2026 respectively, as well as the National Convention slated for April 11, 2026.

The Council, which remains the highest decision-making organ of the Party after the National Convention, reviewed recent developments within the Party. This included the recent unfortunate invasion of the Party Secretariat by hoodlums allegedly sponsored by certain rogue elements.

Following a thorough review of the report and recommendations of the Peace, Reconciliation and Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Comrade Salisu Mohammed (BOT Secretary), NEC invoked its disciplinary powers and approved the suspension of the following members for acts of indiscipline, anti-party activities, and complicity in the desecration of the Party's National Secretariat: Eneyi G. Zidougha, Hilda Doukubo, Lincolin Charles, Muhammed Sabitu Aliyu, Ogar Osim, Vincent Okwuokei, Casmir Agbo Uchenna, Simon Zubairu Bamga, Abduljamid Sa’ad Suleiman, Emmanuel Agida, Auwala Ahmed, Ularama Jubrila, Grace Zafara Posat, Suleiman Abdurahman Abdul, Ajibade Adekunle Samson, Alexander Emmanuel Ombugu, Elizabeth Ativie, Godwin Jioke, Airen Igbinedion, Osas Frank, Kennedy Ahanotu, Ayidele Olurunfemi, B. Arabanbi, Umar Faruk Ibrahim, Auwal Tafoki, and Obiora Ifoh.

NEC further ratified and approved the ongoing expansion of the Party’s membership register through a hybrid approach - Digital Membership Registration (e-registration) alongside manual registration in rural communities. This initiative is aimed at modernizing the Party’s database, strengthening participatory democracy, and enhancing transparency and efficiency in Party administration, in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026.

Additionally, NEC resolved that all existing vacancies within Party structures shall be filled through the appointment of interim leadership to ensure continuity in administration. The National Leadership has been duly empowered to make such appointments, which will remain in acting capacity pending the conduct of substantive congresses in accordance with the Party Constitution and approved timetable.

The Council also urged members to utilize the Party’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms to address grievances, thereby promoting unity and minimizing internal conflicts.

Finally, NEC welcomed the recent judgment of the Federal High Court affirming the leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman as Interim National Chairman. The Council passed a vote of confidence on her leadership, the Interim National Working Committee, the BOT, leadership of the NLC, leadership of the TUC, and the leadership of Governor Alex Otti. NEC also commended INEC for its prompt compliance with the court’s pronouncement.

American Donald J. Trump slams Nigeria's Pro-terrorists President Tinubu over his UK trip in the midst of terror attacks in Nigeria

American President Donald Trump has slammed the Nigeria's pro terrorists President Bola Hamed Tinubu over his UK trip in the midst of terror attacks in Nigeria.

APC led terrorists regime since 2015 till date both under Major General Muhammadu Buhari and his successor Tinubu have demonstrated to the whole wide world that they are less concerned about the Nigerians lives and their properties.

Donald Trump' said: “The situation in Nigeria is a TOTAL D!SASTER. Massive, coordinated suicide bombings tonight in Maiduguri. A hospital, a major market, the post office—all h!t! Many innocent people killed.

This is what happens when you have NO LEADERSHIP and open borders for terrorrists! While his country is in a state of NATIONAL EMERGENCY, President Tinubu is currently in the UK on a "State Visit."

Unbelievable! Shaking hands and having fancy dinners while his people are being blown up? I don't think so! Prime Minister Starmer should tell him to get on a plane and GO HOME IMMEDIATELY. You don't stay abroad during a cr!s!s like this.

A real leader is on the ground with the military and the people, not cutting ribbons in London. Nigeria is a great country with wonderful people, but they are being let down by a government that isn't focused on STRENGTH and SECUR!TY.

Close the borders, find the terrorists, and PROTECT YOUR CITIZENS. Everything else can wait. TRUTH!”

ADC Crisis: Why Appeal Court Sacked David Mark and Aregbesola, Labour Party May remain the only option for 2027

ADC Crisis: Why Appeal Court Sacked David Mark and Aregbesola, Labour Party May remain the only option for 2027

Nigeria's Court of Appeal removes David Mark and Ogbeni Rauf Adensoji Aregbesola  as national chairman and National Secretary of African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the Court affirms Nafiu Bala as the authentic leader of the opposition party.

The development has since sparks political reactions as Bala is widely regarded as an ally of the Nigeria's incumbent president Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressive Congress.

The APC leadership has been in charge of the country since 2015, failed to tackles the insecurity as the regime has been involving in negotiations with the terrorists that have been ravaging the country since 2009.

The crisis rocking opposition political parties including the Labour Party (LP), People's Democratic Party (PDP) and lately African Democratic Congress (ADC) are all linked to the desperate moves of the pro Terrorists Bola Tinubu led APC Government.

On ADC litigation, the Court of Appeal (Nigeria) has reportedly removed former Senate President, David Mark, as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), affirming Nafiu Bala as the authentic leader of the party. Many believed Nafiu Bala was bankrolled by the presidency to cause distablisation the coalition of the political oligarchy aiming to use the platform in 2027.

The appellate court ruling is said to have resolved a leadership crisis that had divided the party, with the judges recognising Bala as the legitimate national chairman with authority to manage the party’s affairs..

The judgment is already generating reactions within political circles, as analysts believe the decision could reshape the internal structure of the ADC and influence its political direction in the coming months. The development has also attracted attention due to Bala’s perceived political closeness to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a factor observers say could affect future political alignments.

As of the time of filing this report, David Mark had not issued an official response to the ruling. The judgment may trigger further legal or political steps from factions that previously backed Mark’s leadership.

With the court affirming Bala as chairman, it's believe the party may now move to stabilise its leadership after months of internal disagreements while stakeholders monitor how different factions within the party respond to the verdict.

The ambition of the former Vice President Alhaj Atiku Abubakar, former Governor of Anambra State Mr. Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi to clinch the presidential Ticket of the party might have hit a dead luck depending on the direction of Snafu leadership.

The Labour Party has recently emerged as a platform free of crisis following both the supreme court judgement and an Abuja Court court affirming the leadership of the Distinguished Senator Nenadi Esther Usman as the Authentic leadership that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must deal with. While the PDP is believed to have been taken over by the pro Tinubu ally Wike.

The Labour Party may be the only alternative political platform for all the opposition as far as the 2027 general elections may be concerned.

PRESS RELEASE: INEC'S CONCERNS REGARDING THE STATUS OF OUR STATE EXECUTIVES HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED

PRESS RELEASE: INEC'S CONCERNS REGARDING THE STATUS OF OUR STATE EXECUTIVES HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED

The attention of the leadership of the Labour Party has been drawn to a letter currently in circulation from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in which the Commission drew the Party’s attention to the fact that an earlier letter notifying it of the Party’s intention to dissolve the Interim State Working Committees appointed in December 2025, following conflicts and contestations with parallel State Executives purportedly elected in December by an illegitimate leadership of the Party, did not meet the statutory notice period required for such a meeting.

Following the communication from INEC, the leadership of the Party has, in full compliance with the Party’s Constitution, the Electoral Act, and the relevant INEC guidelines, taken all the necessary steps to conclusively address the concerns raised by the Commission.

Ordinarily, the Party chose to ignore the beer-parlour gossip being peddled by some discredited former members of the Party concerning the said letter by INEC. However, in view of the numerous inquiries from Party members across the federation and other stakeholders seeking clarification on the true position of affairs, we consider it necessary to issue this statement.

The Labour Party wishes to inform the general public that those attempting to recycle and regurgitate the old INEC letter are disgruntled and politically irrelevant former members of the Party who are desperately clutching at every available straw in a futile effort to create confusion and mislead the public.

The Party therefore urges members of the public and our teeming supporters across the country to continue to actively participate in the ongoing membership revalidation and new registration exercise. Party members are also encouraged to prepare for the forthcoming Party Congresses and National Convention as scheduled.

While urging members of the public and the media to disregard the antics of certain mischievous elements who continue to shamelessly throw tantrums in public, the Labour Party, under the able leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman, wishes to reassure its members that the current leadership remains focused, on course, and will not be distracted by the fringe activities of a few discredited individuals.

CLARIFICATION ON INEC RESPONSE TO LABOUR PARTY MATTER

CLARIFICATION ON INEC RESPONSE TO LABOUR PARTY MATTER

6th March, 2026

The attention of members and supporters of the Labour Party has been drawn to various interpretations regarding the recent response from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concerning the dissolution of Ward, Local Government and State Executives of the party.

For the avoidance of doubt, INEC’s response simply indicates that the proper constitutional procedure must be followed. This includes convening a valid National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, with the required 21-day statutory notice to INEC, and citing the relevant provisions of the Labour Party Constitution 2019 (as amended).

It is important to emphasize that the existing structures under the leadership of Julius Abure had already expired prior to the expiration of the National Working Committee (NWC) tenure on 8th June 2024.

Accordingly, the leadership of the party under the Caretaker Committee led by Nenadi Usman, with the Secretary Darlington Nwokocha, is expected to follow the due process by convening a NEC meeting to obtain the necessary resolutions which INEC can lawfully implement.

Members of the party and the general public are therefore advised not to panic, as the matter is procedural and will be addressed in accordance with the party’s constitution and democratic principles.

Nenadi Vs Abure: Sir Dele Abiola Meets Atayese in his Den

It was a surprise and unbelievable event that the Oyo State Interim Chairman of the Labour Party Sir Dele Abiola could just lead a handful of his interim team to the den of the former Chairman of the party Mr Sodiq Tunji (Atayese) who is still holding on as the chairman of the party regardless of Senator Nenadi Esther Usman appointment of the interim committee for many of the states of the federation.

Earlier on 2nd of March, a letter had been dispatched to Atayese demanding for the official handing over of whatever party's assets and liabilities under his care to the interim state working committee. Why those at the office refused to collect the the dispatched letter in his behalf, a soft copy was sent to Atayese via is WhatsApp number. He acknowledged the receipt of it. By yesterday 4th of March, it was agreed that they can both meet today at the party Secretariat under the control of Atayese believing that he will never come or perhaps he would have been there with thugs to take over the party secretariat from them by force.

At the brief meeting that lasted for more that one hour, after introductions of his entourages, sir Dele Abiola notified the Atayese team of the existence of the Interim State Working Committee of the Labour Party and demanded for the Handing Over of Party's assets and liabilities to his interim leadership.

The former Chairman who acknowledged the ascendance of Senator Nenadi Esther Usman as the National Chairman of the Labour Party via the judgement of an Abuja High Court maintained that the Supreme Court had ruled that matters of political parties are internal matters but agreed to follow due process. He also affirmed that he has been in contact through one of the Nenadi' deputies.

Sodiq Tunji Atayese maintained that he has conducted Congress in Oyo State and was witnessed by the INEC officials in the state.

With many occasional threats to let loose the gate of hell on the visitors, even with many unprintable words and bewilderment, Atayese and many others in the meeting wondered and salute the courage of the interim Chairman Sir Dele Abiola to have dare to come to their den.

Atayese team also asked whether their was any letter from senator Nenadi Usman requesting them to hand over the party Secretariat. He said even of there is or was any letter of appointment, that is null and void.
However , it can be deduced that as much as he and his team believed that there can be upturn of the High Court Judgement that enthroned Nenadi in the appeal, he also is ready and has been making efforts to align with the party's National Working Committee through those around the National Chairman just to retain the party structures in the State just has his loyalty shifted from Alhaj Lamidi Apapa to Mr. Julius Abure in desperate determination to retain the party's platform for usual negotiations with the highest bidders.

Sir Dele Abiola in responding to all the vituperation, said the Interim State Working Committee will notify the national of all their concerns and questions and that due process devoid of illegality will be followed to put the party back in lines.

Against all expectations, the meeting ended with the two sides taking several pictures. The security officer of the State Security Service were present.

Exit of Supreme Leader: The 3 Iranian Elders in Charge of Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Exit of Supreme Leader: The 3 Iranian Elders in Charge of Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Authorities in Tehran have announced a three-member interim leadership council to run the government after the killing of Islamic Republic's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Israeli-United States strikes.

Tehran pledged to avenge the killing on Saturday of Khamenei, who had been in power for nearly four decades.

Iran's IRGC has since targeted Israeli and US assets located across Gulf countries with Ballistic missiles in retaliatory strikes.

While United States President Donald Trump has said he wants a change in Iran’s government, the religious leaders of Iran moved on Sunday to start the process of choosing Khamenei’s successor. So the change of leadership in Tehran will not in anyway change the governance principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Trump on Sunday said he is ready to speak with the new Iranian leaders.

What is the interim leadership council?

Article 111 of Iran’s Constitution authorises a temporary leadership council to assume the supreme leader’s duties until a successor is elected.

That council will consist of President Masoud Pezeshkian; the chief justice of the Supreme Court, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei; and a member of the Guardian Council, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi.

So who are these three figures who will temporarily run Iran as it reels from war?

Ayatollah Alireza Arafi

Arafi has been a member of the Guardian Council since 2019. Its members are appointed by the supreme leader. It is an Islamic legal authority that vets Iran’s laws and policies to make sure they conform to Islamic principles. It approves election candidates, has veto power over legislation passed by parliament and supervises elections.

Arafi also serves as the deputy chairman of the Assembly of Experts, the body responsible for overseeing the selection of the supreme leader. He leads Friday prayers in Qom, Iran’s most important religious centre, and heads the seminary system, overseeing education for religious leaders nationwide.

Masoud Pezeshkian
Pezeshkian, 71, is a reformist politician and heart surgeon who served in the army during the Iran-Iraq War. He was elected president in the 2024 elections.

He previously served as health minister under President Mohammad Khatami and, after 2005, as a member of parliament representing the northwestern city of Tabriz.

Pezeshkian ran unsuccessfully for president earlier but in 2024 won on a reform-oriented platform and has since navigated economic pressures and regional tensions.

He earlier campaigned on economic stabilisation, easing social restrictions and pursuing constructive engagement abroad while affirming loyalty to the Islamic Republic’s constitutional framework.

Reacting to Khamenei’s assassination, Pezeshkian said in a statement that Iran now considers “it its legitimate duty and right to avenge the perpetrators and masterminds of this historic crime”.

Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei

Mohseni-Ejei is a senior religious leader and has headed the judiciary since Khamenei appointed him to the post in July 2021.

He previously served as intelligence minister from 2005 to 2009 and later as prosecutor-general and first deputy chief justice. He is regarded as a hardline figure aligned with the conservative wing of the government.

In January, when the collapsing rial triggered protests across Iran, Mohseni-Ejei promised “no leniency” towards what he called “rioters”.

Mohseni-Ejei said the US and Israel “openly and explicitly supported the unrest” in the country after Trump called on Iranians to take to the streets.

After Khamenei’s killing, Trump again addressed the Iranian public on Saturday, calling for them to topple the government. “This will probably be your only chance for generations,” he said on Saturday after the US and Israeli attacks on Iran began.

Iran Leaders: We've had two decades to study defeats of the U.S. military to our immediate east and west. We've incorporated lessons accordingly.

Bombings in our capital have no impact on our ability to conduct war. Decentralized Mosaic Defense enables us to decide when—and how—war will end.

IRGC also announced that US THAAD radar in UAE have been destroyed. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announces precision strikes on THAAD radar site at Al-Ruwais.

IRGC also stated that they attacked a US naval fuel-support ship 700 km off Chabahar with drones and missiles.

Iran's IRGC on Saturday said the U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln was targeted by four cruise missiles. Following the strike, the carrier left its mission area and proceeded southeast toward the Indian Ocean.

Russian Foreign Ministry calls US and Israeli attack on Iran an 'IRRESPONSIBLE MOVE'

The Foreign Ministry of Russia Federation has called US and Israeli attack on Iran an 'IRRESPONSIBLE MOVE'

The ministry described the US and Israeli bombing of Iran as a premeditated and unprovoked act of armed aggression

According to the statement, the responsibility for the negative consequences of this man-made crisis lies entirely with the US and Israel. The motives behind the US and Israeli attacks on Iran have nothing to do with the preservation of non-proliferation

"The US and Israel cannot fail to understand that their actions in escalating the situation in the Middle East push the region towards acquiring new weapons."

Moscow expresses concern over the serial nature of destabilizing US strikes on the international legal foundations of the global order.

Russia demands the immediate return of the situation around Iran to a diplomatic resolution.

Moscow is ready to assist in finding peaceful solutions in the Middle East based on international law and mutual respect. The statement said.

JTF TROOPS STORM MOTHER VALLEY, CRUSH IPOB/ESN STRONGHOLD IN DECISIVE ASSAULT

JTF TROOPS STORM MOTHER VALLEY, CRUSH IPOB/ESN STRONGHOLD IN DECISIVE ASSAULT

Troops of Joint Task Force (JTF) South East (SE) Operation UDO KA (OPUK), comprising the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), on 26 February 2026 launched a daring final foot assault into the notorious Mother Valley, Nkwere, Anambra State, a long-standing enclave of IPOB/ESN elements. Advancing relentlessly for over three hours through difficult and restricted terrain, the combined troops demonstrated exceptional courage, discipline, and professionalism to penetrate and dominate the valley despite fierce resistance.

During the intense engagement, the criminals employed locally made hand-held IEDs and heavy gunfire in a desperate attempt to halt the advance. Undeterred, troops decisively overwhelmed the hostile elements, neutralizing one IPOB member while several others fled with gunshot wounds, effectively shattering their defensive positions and operational cohesion.

A significant cache of weapons and logistics was recovered, including two pump-action guns, one locally fabricated gun, one tear gas gun, seven gas cylinders, an electric kettle, and flags linked to extremist propaganda. Troops also destroyed all life-support structures at the terrorists’ Supreme Headquarters in the valley, including solar panels and a Mikano generator, dealing a critical blow to their operational sustainability.

In a related operation, two suspected IPOB members were arrested by an ambush team, one while attempting to emplace an IED and the other identified as a spy monitoring troop movements. Additionally, one KIA saloon car and one black Toyota Sequoia jeep were recovered from a terrorist car park within the valley. The suspects are currently in custody for profiling and further investigation, while troops continue aggressive clearance operations to deny the criminals any freedom of action.

This decisive operation sends a clear and unmistakable warning to all criminal elements: there will be no hiding place, no sanctuary and no escape. The Nigerian Army remains resolute, relentless and fully committed to dismantling all terrorist networks across the South East and the entire nation. Law-abiding citizens are assured of sustained security presence and protection, while criminals should expect swift, overwhelming and lawful force wherever they attempt to threaten peace and stability.

Papa Mama Pikin... LABOUR PARTY SHALL RISE AGAIN! - Tony Akeni

Papa Mama Pikin... LABOUR PARTY SHALL RISE AGAIN! - Tony Akeni

Yesterday, Wednesday February 25, 2026, the national leadership of Labour Party, the NLC, TUC 36 states and Abuja Political Committee heads of the two umbrella trade centres of Nigeria and stakeholders of the party held an extraordinary summit in Abuja.

The theme of the summit was "Re-uniting the Labour Family: Consolidating Strength for Political Impact."

Comprising two sessions of impactive, constructive and fruitful engagements, the first session held at the party's National headquarters in Utako where two highlights took the front burner: reconciliation of all members and varied persuasions of the Labour Party towards the success of the party's oncoming nationwide congresses and national convention.

To support the huge nationwide exercise, a flagship dedicated App for membership registration and revalidation was demonstrated by a consultant firm for stakeholders feedback towards achieving a seamless multi-component online infrastructure for the task.

In a display of disarming humility, earnestness and candour uncommon with politicians of this age, the Caretaker National Chairman of the party, Sen. Nenadi Usman, called out to all and sundry, in sync and hitherto aggrieved, to return to their first love, the Papa-Mama-Pikin ideological market square which the Labour Party represents for Nigerian workers, long suffering masses and citizens of all classes towards making the party great again.

Siting Comrade Tony Akeni at the event, the NLC backed Acting National Publicity Secretary of Labour Party standing with her media aide, the impeccable gentleman Barr. Ken Asogua, Sen. Nenadi came over with a hilarious mother fanfare and told everyone: "This is Tony, the troubler of Israel."

Amidst having a good laugh at her Ahab jab,  I pledged right away on the spot and meant it, "Dear Madam Chair," I said, "I will never trouble your Israel again. From now I shall trouble Egypt alone for your sake." That sank well with everyone and was the cause of the laughter you see in the photo above.

Be it known here forward that Labour Party is now one undivided and indivisible political family as we head for nationwide state congresses and national convention of our party in fulfilment of the long stalled consent judgment of Justice Gabriel Kolawole delivered since March 18, 2020. A turn-point judgment and task which the defunct Julius Abure council had defied and refused to honour for six years. Now Sen. Esther Usman Nenadi is all set to accomplish that with flare and flourish in the foreseeable few months down the corner.

Join the party!

Join the hearty.

PRESS RELEASE: LABOUR PARTY HOLDS RECONCILIATION MEETING IN OGUN STATE, MOVES TOWARD UNITY

PRESS RELEASE: LABOUR PARTY HOLDS RECONCILIATION MEETING IN OGUN STATE, MOVES TOWARD UNITY

Date: 24th February,2026

Venue:NLC State Secretariat, Abeokuta

The Ogun State Chapter of the Labour Party (LP) wishes to inform the general public and our esteemed members of a significant development in our efforts to foster unity and strengthen the party ahead of future electoral challenges.

Following the recent judgments of the Court of Appeal, the leadership of our great party, under the distinguished leadership of the Deputy National Chairman (South), Mrs. Temidayo Nike Oriola Job, convened a crucial reconciliation meeting with stakeholders in Ogun State. The meeting, held on 19th February,2026, brought together members of the Ogun State Interim Executive and other party faithful who, subsequent to the court rulings, have aligned with the Senator Nenadi Usman-led National Executive Committee (NEC).

During the session, it was acknowledged that there were periods of intense legal battles where party members found themselves on different sides, as well as others who left the fold to aligned with other political party. It was noted that some members who are now converts to the Nenadi Usman-led Exco had, during the heat of the court cases, reported their fellow party members to security agencies (including the Nigeria Police and the Department of State Services) for impersonation, even as the now-dispersed Julius Abure leadership for declaring support for the Nenadi Usman faction.

In her characteristic spirit of inclusive leadership, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Mrs. Temidayo Nike Oriola, urged all parties to embrace one another and bury the hatchet. She emphasized that the Labour Party must move beyond the acrimony of the past and present a united front to the people of Ogun State.

As a concrete step towards enduring peace, the leadership has directed that a harmonized reconciliation committee be formed. Both sides involved in the dispute have been mandated to submit a list of nine (9) members each, making a total of eighteen (18) members. This committee will be inaugurated to oversee the formal reconciliation process and ensure that all grievances are permanently laid to rest.

As the Publicity Secretary of the Ogun State Labour Party, I urge all our members to cooperate with this initiative. The Labour Party remains the vehicle for the hopes and aspirations of the masses, and we cannot afford to be distracted by internal conflicts. We are committed to rebuilding, reconciling, and emerging stronger.

We thank our leaders, members, and the press for their continued support.

Trump

The United States America which officially designated the Nigeria's islamists Terrorists Boko Haram a foreign terrorist organisation in 2013 has freezes assets of eight Nigerians over Boko Haram, ISIL, cybercrime links.

The US State Department claimed that the group has carried out numerous deadly attacks across northern and northeastern Nigeria, as well as the Lake Chad Basin, since 2009.

US President Donald Trump announced in October 2025, for the second time that Nigeria would be added to the US Department of State’s list of “Countries of Particular Concern,” citing alleged religious freedom violations and Christian genocide.

Nigeria was first designated in 2020 under Trump during his first term but was removed from the list by former President Joe Biden shortly after he assumed office.

There were claims that insecurity in Nigeria was founded in t President Barrak Obama in a desperate agenda to to remove President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 and put in place the pro terrorists regime of APC. There have never been any counter claims that APC imported and brought more Fulani Terrorists machineries from other West African countries into the country.

Salih Yusuf Adamu (also known as Salihu Yusuf)

Babestan Oluwole Ademulero

Abu Abdullah ibn Umar Al-Barnawi

Abu Musab Al-Barnawi

Khaled Al-Barnawi

Ibrahim Ali Alhassan

Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Mainuki

US frozen the assets of the above eight Nigerians linked to the Islamic sect Boko Haram and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

According to the detailed in a 3,000-page document released on February 10 by the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

The document also identifies individuals sanctioned for cybercrime and other security threats, following recent U.S. Congressional recommendations for visa bans and asset freezes on those accused of violating religious freedom and persecuting Christians in Nigeria.

US lawmakers have recommended visa bans and asset freezes against the former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, and Miyetti Allah Kautal, over alleged links to extremist activities.

The recommendation was contained in a document released by the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) titled “Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List.”

The publication outlines individuals and entities whose assets have been frozen and serves as a reference tool for compliance with US sanctions regimes, particularly those related to counter-terrorism.

According to Office of Foreign Assets Control, the move forms part of broader efforts to block the property and interests of designated individuals and prevent financial dealings with them.

“This publication of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control is designed as a reference tool providing actual notice of actions by OFAC with respect to Specially Designated Nationals and other persons … whose property is blocked, to assist the public in complying with the various sanctions programmes administered by OFAC,” the agency said.

Among those listed is Salih Yusuf Adamu, also known as Salihu Yusuf, born August 23, 1990, in Nigeria. OFAC identified him as having ties to Boko Haram. Yusuf was among six Nigerians convicted in 2022 in the United Arab Emirates for setting up a Boko Haram cell to raise funds for insurgents in Nigeria. The group attempted to transfer $782,000 from Dubai to Nigeria.

Another individual, Babestan Oluwole Ademulero, born March 4, 1953, was designated under SDNTK sanctions and listed under multiple aliases, including Wole A. Babestan and Olatunde Irewole Shofeso.

Also sanctioned were Abu Abdullah ibn Umar Al-Barnawi (also known as Ba Idrisa), Abu Musab Al-Barnawi (Habib Yusuf), Khaled (Khalid) Al-Barnawi, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, and Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Mainuki, all identified as having links to Boko Haram or ISIL. Several of the individuals were born in Maiduguri or other parts of Borno State and were sanctioned under terrorism-related executive orders.

Additionally, Nnamdi Orson Benson, born March 21, 1987, was listed under CYBER2 sanctions for cyber-related offences and was reported to hold a Nigerian passport.

The sanctions mean that all property and interests of the listed individuals within US jurisdiction are blocked, and US persons are prohibited from engaging in transactions with them.

Hence, Nigerians named under the sanctions face asset freezes under Executive Order 13224.
