Forgery, Perjury Allegations Rock Osogbo as Police Probe Lawyer Over Disputed Land Title

Forgery, Perjury Allegations Rock Osogbo as Police Probe Lawyer Over Disputed Land Title

An Osogbo-based lawyer, Mr. Muyideen Adeoye Galadima, is at the centre of a police investigation as operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Zone XI Zonal Command Headquarters, Osogbo, probe allegations of forgery, impersonation, and perjury over a land title document said to belong to the late legal practitioner, Barrister Tunji Abolade.

Galadima is reportedly accused of unlawfully converting a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) belonging to the deceased legal luminary and laying claim to a judgment land adjudged to Madam Sinatu Adeoye.

He is further alleged to have acted in connivance with a NIPCO filling station, the Alare-Iyiolu family, and others — including Olugbenga Aro, Latona Olaiya Tajudeen, and Alhaji Waheed Raheem — whom he allegedly induced to depose to an oath before a Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo in Suit No: FHC/OS/CS/23/2026, claiming ownership of the disputed documents.

The land dispute dates back to the 1970s and concerns a vast expanse of land owned by Madam Sinatu Adeoye.

The property stretches along both sides of the Osogbo–Ikirun Road, covering areas such as Powerline, Omidiran Garden, Iyana Camp, Biket Junction Area, and Ifesowapo Community, sharing boundaries with Bidire and adjoining communities.

Investigations reveal that the dispute led to two major court actions at the State High Court in Osogbo.

In Suit No: HOS/102/80, instituted by Shittu Ladimeji & 3 Ors. on behalf of the Iyiolu Alare Family of Osogbo against Madam Sinatu Adeoye, the court declared Adeoye the lawful and genuine owner of the land — including the parcel housing the Transmission Company of Nigeria, Osogbo.

Following their loss in 1982, the Iyiolu Alare family allegedly engaged Hephzibah Holdings Limited, an estate firm owned by Deji Olugunna, to sell the same land through a Power of Attorney, despite the subsisting judgment affirming Adeoye’s ownership.

Madam Sinatu Adeoye subsequently challenged the move, asserting that the land had originally been allocated to her late father, Akande Adeoye, by Oba Bamgbola of Iyadudu Royal Family of Osogbo, and that she remains the sole surviving heir.

The dispute culminated in a second action — Suit No: HOS/71/1993 between Hephzibah Holdings Limited v. Madam Sinatu Adeoye & 4 Ors. In her counterclaim, Adeoye clearly delineated the boundaries of her land before the court.

Due to heightened tension surrounding the matter, the presiding judge, Hon. Justice R.O. Yusuf, visited the locus in quo to physically ascertain the land’s location and boundaries.

The court ultimately dismissed Hephzibah Holdings Limited’s claims, awarded costs of N2,000 against the company, and ruled decisively in favour of Madam Sinatu Adeoye.

The court granted her declaratory judgment, affirming that her counterclaim succeeded and that the survey plans tendered in both Suit Nos: HOS/102/80 and HOS/71/1993 did not exhaust the full extent of her vast landholding along the Osogbo–Ikirun Road.

The ongoing police probe reportedly stems from a petition dated February 10, 2026, signed by Barrister Lekan Alabi and addressed to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone XI, Osogbo.

The petition, titled:“Complaint of Conspiracy, Fraudulent Conversion, Perjury, Forgery, Stealing, Impersonation and Contempt”,names several individuals, including Mr. Gbenga Aro, Mr. Latona Olaiya Tajudeen, Alhaji Waheed Raheem (alias Odua), Pa Adeyanju Busari Hamzat, Mr. Sarafa Omidiji, Muili Folorunsho, Mr. Muniru Saka, and Mr. Muyideen Adeoye Galadima, among others described as judgment debtors and illegal occupants.

According to the petition, various alleged illegal occupants have been presenting different documents purportedly claiming ownership of portions of the judgment land, allegedly facilitated by Galadima through forged title documents.

The petition further alleges that these actions emboldened parties linked to the NIPCO Filling Station to demolish a warehouse under construction beside the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) office, near Biket Junction along the Osogbo–Ikirun Road.

Additionally, Galadima and his associates are alleged to have filed multiple applications before Osun State High Courts seeking to set aside the February 26, 1997 High Court judgment, rather than approaching the appellate court if dissatisfied with the ruling on the judgment creditor’s land.

Meanwhile, the complainant has urged the police to prosecute the matter upon completion of a thorough and diligent investigation.
As the investigation unfolds, the case is expected to test the integrity of land administration, judicial finality, and professional ethics within the legal community in Osogbo and beyond.

Osun Gov Ademola Adeleke commissions Crescendo Sports Lounge in Osogbo

Osun Gov Ademola Adeleke commissions Crescendo Sports Lounge in Osogbo

...charges youths to risk investment opportunities

Osun State Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has commissioned Crescendo Sports Lounge in Osogbo, urging the youths to take advantage of the enabling environment of the current administration of Osun State.

He tasked the youths to take investment risks and count their gains, even in the face of economic downturn bedeviling Nigeria.

This assertion was made by the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, who represented the Governor at the commissioning of the investment project at Alekuwodo Osogbo, on Friday 23rd February, 2024.

Recall that the commissioner paid a final inspection tour to the project site barely a week ahead of the day of commissioning.

Crescendo Sports Lounge, a subsidiary of A1 Pinnacle Services Ltd, in partnership with the Osun State Government, is a realization of a dream of the current administration to turn Osun from Civil Service State to an industrialized one.

The Commissioner described the Sports Lounge as a laudable achievement of Governor Adeleke, whose yearning is wooing local and international investors, since his assumption of office, now yielding positive and physical results.

"I make bold to say that, what we are commissioning today is the first of its kind in the entire South West region. The materials, especially, the synthetic grass are of international standard. Its strategic location will no doubt attracts sports lovers within and outside the State. By this project, some of our youths will be gainfully employed and their mental alertness developed through various sporting activities. These will equally boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)", the Commissioner said.

According to the Commissioner, " the phase we are commissioning today is just the first phase. As you can see, the phase II, that will house other indoor games will equally be completed and commissioned in no distant future. Mr. Governor, as a lover of Sports, will be on ground to cut the tape".

He appealed to  the "youths and all sport lovers to use the opportunity of this facility to develop their God-given talents. An adage says 'an idle hand is the devil's workshop'. Don't just pay to watch a match, but develop your skills as well".

"People who can risk investment are the ones to make gain in such an adventure. If there is no risk, there is no gain at the end of the day", he said.

"I want to laud the efforts of the Chief Executive Officer of A1 Pinnacle, Mr. Tunde Oladimeji, for deeming it fit to contribute his own quota to the development of our dear State. Other interested investors are assured of enabling environment to drive their businesses" Rev. Jenyo stated.

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Management team of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

NIGERIAN ARMY's POSITION ON ALLEGED CONTROVERSIAL LAND TUSSLE IN OSHOGBO, OSUN STATE

NIGERIAN ARMY's POSITION ON ALLEGED CONTROVERSIAL LAND TUSSLE IN OSHOGBO, OSUN STATE

The Nigerian Army wishes to address the recent allegations and misinformation circulating on the social and mainstream media regarding a controversial land tussle between the Nigerian Army and 65 family compounds in Oshogbo, Osun State.

Given the enormity of the claims as presented by the claimants in the media and its consequential impact on the corporate image of the Nigerian Army and the office of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), it has become imperative to clarify that the land in question has been a subject of agitation by the people of Oshogbo, long before the appointment of Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja as the COAS on 19 June 2023. This is clearly evident in the agitators' claim of possession of a High Court Judgement obtained sometime in January 2023, while Gen Taoreed Lagbaja was still the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army in Kaduna.

The attempt  therefore, to wrongly portray the person and Office of the Chief of Army Staff as the protagonist behind the land tussle in the media and in the eyes of the public, just to draw attention to the said High Court Judgment and present it as a current issue being implemented or driven by the COAS, is simply a clear act of mischief that will serve no useful mediatory purpose, but only to denigrate the hard earned excellent reputation and integrity of a detribalized, selfless and patriotic Chief of Army Staff.

As an institution committed to upholding the Rule of Law and respect for the rights of the citizenry, the Nigerian Army will unabatedly continue to be a law abiding institution and at all times, pursue the fulfilment of its obligations under the law.

Suffice it to say therefore, that the Nigerian Army has taken cognisance of the judgment of the High Court of Justice of Osun State in the case of Chief Amodu Akanbi Suleiman Folorunsho & Others V. Attorney General of the Federation & Others,

The Nigerian Army has initiated an appeal against the decision of the lower court at the Court of Appeal Akure.

It is trite that the filing of an appeal against a court decision operates as a stay of execution of that court decision. Thus, it is only advisable that all parties maintain the status quo until the resolution of the appeal.

On this note, we urge the public to discountenance the misinformation being circulated in the media to prevent being misled and taken advantage of, by persons and groups with ulterior and sinister motives.

The Nigerian Army will continue to work in collaboration with relevant authorities to address any legitimate concern and ensure that justice prevails.

We appreciate the very apt and timely  intervention of Honourable members of the House of Representatives and the Osun State House of Assembly in the matter. We also solicit the understanding and support of other stakeholders and the public, as we strive to maintain peace and security in our nation.

Trouble looming for Sterling Bank, Osogbo branch as security operatives may have issues to settle with some of it's staff

Trouble looming for Sterling Bank, Osogbo branch as security operatives may have issues to settle with some of it's staff

Many of the staff and security attendants of banks in Nigeria resulted to an unprofessional and repressive methods of dealing with customers since CBN naira redesign and eventual scarcity of new notes with endless problems facing bank customers.

Sterling Bank, Osogbo branch has been cought up in this web of inhumane treatment.

Security operatives have reportedly been visiting the bank since early this week following an urgly occurrence against a customer whose phone was smashed by the bank's security door on Monday 6th March, 2023.

Our source confirmed that Alhaja (name whited) whose phone was smashed was in the bank to make a complain about her numerous money transfers that were not delivered. When she was about to enter the bank, the bank's door was remote controlled from the control room and damaged her phone (Hot 10 play).

The complain about the damaged phone was made to the bank manager and the business manager as well. The bank response was that woman should just accept the damage/lost or what if the phone got damaged in another circumstances, what will she do?

The woman demanded to see the Bank's security officer who was responsible for the incident but was denied. It was also said that Bank business manager said the fault must be from the customer not the bank security officer.

It was leant that the CCTV footage review has been demanded for but both the bank manager and business manager are said to be noncooperating.

It was also leart that an arrest order has been issued against the concerned officials. Today been Saturday, further enquires from the bank seems difficult.

The fact remained that Nigerians have been subjected to an untold hardship and economy of many individuals and families crippled under the current policy.
