Katsina Massacre: Ribadu Must Wake Up, Tinubu Must Step Up or Step Down Says Labour Party

Katsina Massacre: Ribadu Must Wake Up, Tinubu Must Step Up or Step Down Says Labour Party

Nuhu Ribadu should revise his Kuru training manuals

Prince Tony

Labour Party, a major opposition political party in Nigeria has condensed the cruel massacre of the innocent citizens in a mosque in Kastina State.

The Party  in a statement signed by its national publicity secretary Prince Tony Akeni expressed deepest condolences to the families of casualties and survivors of the Katsina mosque massacre, and subsequent mass abduction of innocent citizens by terrorist bandits.

The attack took place last Tuesday August 19 in the Unguwar Mantau village of Malumfashi local government area of the state.

"We also condole with the Acting Governor of Katsina state, Alh. Faruk Lawal Jobe, and other government functionaries of conscience who must be sorely disconcerted by yet another chapter of wanton killings involving 30 innocent Muslims who were shot dead in their mosque during morning prayers, and over twenty others in adjoining homes to the mosque who were locked inside their houses and burnt to death. In addition to this had been the overwhelming urgency of rescuing alive 76 other citizens - men, women and children - who were abducted from the environ and herded away into hell by the terrorists after the dastardly mosque killings. We, as a party, were waiting for progress on the rescue of these citizens before putting out our statement. Happily, we have just confirmed today Thursday August 28 that the mass of abducted Katsina villagers have been rescued."

"A window to the hell-on-earth insecurity nightmares the citizens of parts of Katsina, Middle Belt and similar Northern states are facing in their localities is provided by Mr. Usman Usman, the councillor representing Almu ward of Malumfashi local government council, as follows: "The bandits have decreed that the farmers of these communities will only be allowed to enter their farms between the hours of 8am and 1pm, after which they must vacate the farms or be abducted or killed." Another resident corroborated that despite each farming household previously paying a #10,000 protection fee to the bandits, they still strike at will on regular basis, cart away unchallenged their livestock and in one recent case took five residents with them into their forest lairs; a nightmare that has turned the area and its adjoining districts to a ghost land as people flee in search of peaceful livelihood elsewhere."

"As a political party passionately committed in ideology, principles and empathy to an egalitarian redemption of our country and remaking her into a nation that works for all, the protection of lives and properties, the pursuit of happiness, freedom of worship and livelihood without breach is non-negotiable, in contrast to the pandemic state of insecurity in our country as demonstrated by the traumatizing broad-day horror visited on our Unguwar Mantau people."

According to the statement, since the unfortunate incident last week, Senator Nenadi Usman led Labour Party has been monitoring the aftermath of the coordinated horror through the Katsina state.

"Sadly, while we were still holding our breaths for a comprehensive report before making this official statement, we were apprised further by our party's local humanitarian sentry in Katsina state that less than 48hrs after the chilling assault on the Unguwar mosque, more than a dozen other Katsina communities were seized by freely ranging platoons of bandits and a pay-or-perish levy of #15million naira imposed on hapless Nigerian citizens in 16 communities in that part of our country. This information has since been corroborated to be true by local residents, including a serving councillor of Almu ward, one of the bandits overrun communities. "

"Aggregating these distressing data and gross shortcomings of Nigeria's security governance by the APC led administration, our hearts bleed and our prayers go out to the immediate family, clerics of the attacked mosque, the ransomed communities' leadership and the good people of Katsina state in general. "

"It is incredibly saddening that the deadly assault on humanity, continued regression to stone age savagery in wide swathes of our country by marauding terrorists and their conscience-dead sponsors in government are, by their own admission, well-known to the APC administrations of both late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari and his tourist successor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Yet no decisive and terminal solution by the APC managers of our country appears anywhere in sight. It is even more saddening when you reflect on several factors that ought to have made the Unguwar mosque attack both avoidable and impossible."

More Security Budgets, More Insecurity...

One would ask: how is that possible except in Nigeria? It is only with the ruling APC administration that such paradox is a regular assault to logic and sensibility of the Nigerian people: the more security budgets rise, the more insecurity, violent crimes and killings rise across the country.

Between 2016 and 2022, Nigeria's APC administration under late Muhammadu Buhari burnt US$9.9billion on tackling insecurity in Nigeria. The national defence budget against insurgency, which was US$2.4billiion in 2020, skyrocketed nearly double to US$4.5billion. In 2025, the administration of his successor, Bola Tinubu, jerked this up to an all-time summit of #4.38trillion or #6.57trilliion. In the equivalent period, Nigeria Police budget rose from #783billion in 2022 to #969.6billion in 2024.

The third most populous state in Nigeria with a projected current population of 10.69million citizens spread across its 34 local government areas, Katsina state has produced two presidents of our country, the best ever and also the worst ever before Nigerians woke up on May 29, 2023 to find Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the hallowed seat of their Presidency. These are PDP produced President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua of blessed memory and the first APC President, late Muhammadu Buhari of blistering memory respectively. These are beside countless late and living military generals and political stalwarts, including two-time Speaker of the House of Representatives and two-time Governor of the state, Alh. Aminu Bello Masari.

A cosmo-Nigerian state with a fair spread of virtually every tribe of the country found in it, the Yorubas, surprisingly, are the third most populous tribe in Katsina state behind the Fulani's population of 1.2million citizens, which is itself a distant second position from the Hausas who are about 9.3million citizens. Over these populations, Katsina state is not barren of federal and state government security formations, infrastructures and personnel. Among the many security establishments in the state are the Natsinta Barracks, located on the Katsina-Jibba Road. Constructed in 1973 and commissioned in 1977, it was originally established to accommodate the 82 Battalion which was shut down in Eastern Nigeria after the civil war and relocated to Katsina and is now the home of both Nigeria's 17 Brigade and 35 Battalion, a stone throw from Katsina main city.

The comprehensive representation of security services in the state's condolence delegation to the victims of the Unguwar mosque murders reflects the full presence of government's security apparatuses in the state. These included the state Commissioner of Police, the Commander of the Nigerian Army’s 17 Brigade, the State Director of Department of State Services (DSS) and the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). These were in addition to the state government's components led by the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Abdullahi Faskari, on behalf of the state governor, Alh. Dikko Radda, who has been on a self-catering medical vacation in another part of the planet while his citizens were being mowed down like flies and survivors abducted like livestock into bandit annexed forests.

With the above plethora of security presence, paraphernalia and personnel existing and drawing huge federal and state budget shares from government, why do the free killing sprees and abductions for ransom such as last Tuesday's mosque massacre in Katsina, Plateau, Benue and other parts of the north still happen, almost frequently and at will, without the soulless perpetrators being brought to book and their menace exterminated?

APC, Government of Funeral Delegations

Between the PDP and APC maladministration of Nigeria, in spite of Nigeria's staggering annual defence budgets, police and state governors' security votes, huge parts of which end in the pockets of corrupt sector actors and turn up in the face of the people as private estates, plazas and plush property investments in and outside Nigeria, reports of Nigerians who die everyday are worse than countries in full-blown war and chilling.

In a recent research titled "Economics of Nigeria’s Kidnap Industry," SB Morgen Intelligence (SBM), a geo-crime research firm, reported that in one year alone between July 2024 and June 2025, Nigerian families paid to kidnappers #2.57billion or $1.66million, involving 4,722 victims in at least 997 incidents in which at least 762 victims and rescue participants were killed.

In the five years between 2006 and 2021, the country's cadaver records show that Nigerians who died from terrorist killings were 50,252 committed in 2,288 terror acts, while those who died from other violent crimes - kidnappings, robbery, rape, police brutality, extra-judicial killings and sundry felonies - were 51,425. The combined figure of 101,677 citizen-to-corpse life extermination amounts to a minimum of 57 Nigerians whose lives were violently cut short every single day in the last five years of PDP's and APC's combined maladministrations.

The above figures do not include hospital casualties from pandemic failure of the nation's notorious healthcare system, motorist accidents, malnutrition, infant mortality, suicides and other causes. It also excludes the death records of the four years between 2022 and 2025.

During a comparative four-year period of fierce, no holds barred full-scale international ballistics war which decimated parts of cities between Russia, a major world power, and Ukraine, Ukraine lost 73,920 soldiers and civilians between 2022 and this August 2025. This is according to the _deathometer_ metrics of renowned war research organizations including Mediazona, the Book of Memory Group and Britain's BBC. This comes to 50 persons killed everyday in war-torn Ukraine in the last four years. Nigeria is not at war yet loses 57 citizens per day, seven corpses more than Ukraine, over a comparative period scale. Who says Nigeria is not at war?

Are you still wondering or senselessly outraged that the Canadian government declared PDP and APC as terrorist organizations instead of political parties?

Nuhu Ribadu should revise his Kuru training manuals

The function of the National Security Adviser of a country as large and continentally significant as Nigeria is not wearing starched agbada flying with presidential delegations from one state ceremony of mass burials to the other to deliver condolence speeches on behalf of Tinubu's APC administration. It is also not receiving date fruits from Saudi Arabia for Nigeria's Muslims fasting to Allah with one hand and with another hand receiving millions of dollars to acquire deadly weapons for terrorists and bandits to slaughter our peaceful Muslim citizens dutifully worshipping God in their mosques while, ironically, there are no insurgency death records in Saudi Arabia or UAE from where their nationals sponsor terrorism and bloodshed in Nigeria.

Amongst others, the functions of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, is to obtain, sieve and collate security intelligence in the action jurisdiction of all security arms of the federal government, advise the President on real-time pre-emptive actions and combat strikes that ensure and perpetuate long-term security of lives and livelihood which engender citizen gratitude, not funeral wailings and IDP camp exodus for displaced citizens. If Ribadu has forgotten these functions, he should revise his Kuru training manuals and, if they are outdated as he has become, he should take a refresher course on 21st century counter-insurgency security protocols, crises prevention, containment and management.

As the cliche goes, the principal function of government is the security of lives and properties, and by extension their livelihoods and shelter. If President Tinubu cannot provide the principal function of securing lives and properties of Nigerians, he should sack Nuhu Ribadu, reconfigure his armed services' rank and file and step up his security governance over our citizens or do Nigeria a patriotic favour by sacking himself too.

NIGERIA HAS HAPPENED TO ALABI QUADRI: He has been in Detention Since January — Lawyer

NIGERIA HAS HAPPENED TO ALABI QUADRI: He has been in Detention Since January — Lawyer

According to Barrister Inibehe Effiong, Alabi Quadri has been arrested and detained since January if this year.

His Revelations:

We were at the Magistrate Court of Lagos, Apapa Magisterial District, today the 9th day of April, 2025 to ascertain the facts and circumstances that led to the arrest, detention and subsequent remand of Alabi Quadri at the Minimum Security Custodial Centre, Kirikiri, Apapa, Lagos.

After spending several hours at the court, I was accompanied by a colleague from our law firm, Alabi’s mother and other family members and relatives to visit Alabi at the custodial centre. Also in attendance was the social activist who brought the case to public attention.

Given the interest expressed by members of the public, it is necessary to make this preliminary statement.

We can confirm that Alabi has been in detention since January.

He was abducted by ‘Area Boys’ close to his home while returning from work.

According to Alabi and his mother, his painful walk to prison can be attributed to the prolonged malice nursed by some self-acclaimed area boys of his locality who felt entitled to a share of the unexpected fortune that came Alabi’s way when he halted and stood in front of the convoy of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi during the last electioneering campaign.

Since he failed to properly “settle” some people, it has been one attack to another.

After abducting Alabi, the same area boys who have been threatening to deal with him for not sharing the money he was gifted dragged him to the Amukoko Police Station (Pako Police Station) where he was detained.

The area boys initially claimed that Alabi was one of the young men who has been involved in street fights.

However, it came as a rude shock when the Police took him before a Magistrate along with four other individuals who are complete strangers to him, alleging that he conspired with them to commit “Armed Robbery” with cutlasses.

The Police in the charge sheet alleged that the alleged two victims were robed of money and four mobile phones.

The value of both the physical cash and four phones is N579,000 only.

I spent about two hours interviewing Alabi about the veracity of the charges brought by the police. Speaking objectively, we all left Kirikiri with a strong conviction that this gentleman is just another victim of Nigeria’s criminal justice system.

The last point that we want to state on the record is that Alabi is a Minor. He is less than 18 years.

Currently, Alabi has appeared before the Magistrate on three occasions.

The court remanded him along with the four strange individuals who are all adults at the custodial centre pending Legal Advice by the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

We shall provide additional information and the available legal options subsequently. Suffice it to say that we will do all that is legally permissible to secure Alabi’s freedom.

Thank you for your kind attention.

NATIONWIDE PROTEST: NPF CAUTIONS AGAINST ILL-TIMED PROTEST ACROSS THE COUNTRY

The Nigeria Police Force has read in the news that a group called “Take it Back Movement” is planning a protest across various states of the Federation, most especially the Federal Capital Territory, scheduled to hold on Monday 7th April, 2025, a day earmarked by the Federal Government as the National Police Day, to celebrate the resilience and dedication of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.

While not against the exercise of citizens right to peaceful assembly and association in Nigeria as enshrined in the Constitution, the Nigeria Police Force is deeply concerned about the motive behind such protest scheduled on the same day the contributions of the Nigeria Police Force to national security is to be celebrated, putting into consideration that such glamorous event would bring together dignitaries from all spheres of life both internationally and within the country, including Foreign Inspectors-General of Police and Diplomats.

In line with best global practices adopted by nations in celebrating the achievements of its Police institution, the Nigerian Government has taken the bull by the horn by declaring every April 7 as National Police Day. The rationale behind staging a nationwide protest on the same day is however questionable and perceived to be a deliberate attempt and unpatriotic act that is capable of rubbishing and maligning the image of the Nigeria Police and the nation as a whole.

The Nigeria Police Force hereby advises the organizers to shelve this planned protest as it is ill-timed and mischievous.

The Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, while reaffirming the commitment of the NPF to adequately carrying out its mandate in accordance with the Law and respect for rights of citizens hereby urges all the organizers of the planned protest as well as individuals who intend to join the protest to pursue dialogue by engaging the proper institution of government to press home their demands.

REVEALED: SEAKING in Endless Police Detention Over Cyberbullying Against Pastor E.A. Adeboye

REVEALED: SEAKING in Endless Police Detention Over Cyberbullying Against Pastor E.A. Adeboye

There have been more revelations about the endless detainment of Olumide Ogunsanwo known as SEAKING.

According to Activist and AAC leader Omoyele Sowore, Olumide’s  recent ordeal resulted from alleged cyberbullying against Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, in a TikTok video Seaking did in December of 2024.

This revelation is against the original allegations leveled against SEAKING by the Nigerian Police.

The TikToker, Olumide Ogunsanwo alias Seaking who was previously detained at the Maximum Security Custodial Centre, Kirikiri despite bail application granted by a magistrate court in Lagos was later rearrested within the court premises the day the bail conditions were perfected, according to his lawyer Inibehe Rgfiong.

He was arrested on 20th December, 2024 by the Nigeria Police Force and taken to the Ogba Magistrate Court in Lagos on 23rd December, 2024 to be remanded for 30 days for alleged treason, cyberstalking over his viral TikTok video againstthr police.

According to his lawyer "We opposed the remand application and he was granted bail instead by the very courageous Magistrate. However, due to the Christmas and new year holidays and administrative reasons, we could not perfect his bail immediately."

The day the bail perfection process was concluded and his release warrant signed, he was rearrested within the court premises and was later flown Abuja.

His lawyer Inibehe Rgfiong wrote: "We were before the Magistrate Court of Lagos State sitting in Ogba today, Thursday the 6th day of February, 2025 in respect of the remand proceedings instituted by the Nigeria Police Force against our client, Mr. Olumide Ogunsanwo alias Seaking."

"After the day’s proceedings, Seaking was rearrested within the court premises and taken to the State Police Command, Ikeja before he was subsequently taken to the Murtala Muhammad Airport from where he is being flown to Abuja."

"Seaking was first arrested on 20th December, 2024 and taken before the Magistrate Court on 23rd December, 2024 for remand. We opposed the application for remand for 30 days and the court refused the application."

The Learned Magistrate admitted Seaking to bail and ordered the police to forward a duplicate copy of the case file to the DPP for legal advice. The matter was then adjourned to 16th January, 2025 for report of the DPP Advice.

On 16th January, 2025, we were in court with Seaking but there was no representation for the prosecution. The court further adjourned the proceedings to today, 6th February, 2025.

A police prosecutor appeared today and pleaded for adjournment to enable them file proof of compliance with the order of the court. The Magistrate granted the application and gave the police seven days to file proof of compliance. The case was then adjourned to the 25th day of March, 2025 for report of compliance.

"It is utterly condemnable that the same Nigeria Police Force that initiated an ongoing legal proceedings in Lagos would brazenly rearrest our client who is on bail granted by the court and move him to Abuja."

"We call on the Inspector General of Police to put an end to this outrageous charade and egregious abuse of the legal process and order the immediate release of Seaking."

"The fact that the Nigeria Police Force that is supposed to be Nigeria’s primary law enforcement agency is actively leading the assault on the rule of law is evidence of the alarming state of impunity and lawlessness in the country."  Inibehe Rgfiong said in a signed statement.

Sowore in a social media post confirmed that the SEAKING is in Police Custody because of RCCG General Overseer.

His post: We just departed the DIG Dasuki Galandanchi led Federal Investigation Department (FID) of the Nigeria Police Force, where we met Olumide Ogunsanwo aka SEAKING, he was in the company of police officers who had traveled to Lagos to kidnap him. Adeyanju Deji and Marshal D F Abubakar we present as lawyers representing @Seaking and standing in for @inibehe Effiong!

To our surprise, they disclosed that Olumide’s  recent ordeal resulted from alleged cyberbullying against Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, in a TikTok video Seaking did in December of 2024

According to them, one Paul James Adama, using a nebulous “Christian association or group” affiliated with Police PPRO Adejobi Olumuyiwa submitted a “petition” to their office on behalf of the General Overseer.

We asked how a TikTok video by @seaking303 could bully or frighten a whole General Overseer protected by heavenly angels and worldly security agencies , they quickly ask that “we go and come back” after Jumat prayers but apparently they have no plan to free him from their unjust custody

Nigerians, I must state that the  decline of the Nigerian police force is indeed disheartening, disgusting and frightening.

Sowore OMOYELE TO BE CHARGED FOR CYBERCRIME TODAY FOR CALLING PRESIDENT TINUBU’S HANDPICKED POLICE IGP, KAYODE EGBETOKUN “ILLEGAL IGP”

Sowore OMOYELE TO BE CHARGED FOR CYBERCRIME TODAY FOR CALLING PRESIDENT TINUBU’S HANDPICKED POLICE IGP, KAYODE EGBETOKUN “ILLEGAL IGP”

The human rights activist and leader of African Action Congress Omoyele Sowore will this morning charged to court by the Nigeria's law enforcement agent Police Force.

This is another stage after Sowore and his lawyer Femi Falana rejected the police's bail conditions.

According to Omoyele Sowore, these are arguably the most frivolous charges ever filed by Nigerian law enforcement agents. Yele Sowore will be charged for referring to retired and tired IGP Kayode Egbetokun of the Nigeria Police Force as an “Illegal IGP.” Regrettably, Nigeria, whose reputation was initially tarnished, is now beyond redemption!  #RevolutionNow

@yelesho claimed IG of Nigeria @npf_nigeriapoliceforce , KAYODE Egbetokun, was illegal and incompetent, then he (Egbetokun) quickly moved to court to file charges for cybercrime, with incorrect spellings of Sowore’s 1st name OMOLEYE (instead of Omoyele) and wrong spelling of “incite”. Our fight for justice will persist, Sowore tells the Nigerian Police Force

The human rights activist and AAC presidential flag bearer the 2019 and 2023 general elections has informed a team of the Nigerian Police officers that fight for justice will persist this year.

Honoring an invitation extended to my by the force headquarters in Abuja, Sowore said he is prepared to face any consequences as he made it clear to the team that the matter revolves around his publicly stated view that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who is due for retirement and clearly tired, had his tenure extended illegally.

He said: ' I maintain that we are entering a promising year, and our fight for justice will persist."

I have recently completed an engagement with a team from the Nigeria Police Force at the Force Intelligence Department (FID) in Abuja, which they referred to as an “interview”.

According to Omoyele Sowore: The police relied on a rehashed set of information sourced mostly  from the internet. When I asked them to identify the location of the alleged “crime” in Lagos, they provided a vague response, stating it was along the airport road.

I chose not to provide a written statement, as we informed the Police team that, in the absence of a defined crime, the process to determine such was unnecessary.

They took a break and later informed me that they were awaiting instructions from their superiors. It seems their plan is to detain me and take me to Lagos for a kangaroo trial.

However, I am prepared to face any consequences. I made it clear to the team that the matter revolves around my publicly stated view that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who is due for retirement and clearly tired, had his tenure extended illegally. COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE EMERGENCY NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

MEETING OF THE NIGERIA LABOUR CONGRESS (NLC) HELD ON

 TUESDAY,THE 20TH OF AUGUST,2024*

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)convened an emergency meeting to deliberate on the recent developments surrounding the invitation of the President of the Congress,Comrade Joe Ajaero,by the Nigeria Police Force. This invitation is premised on a clearly unfounded and politically motivated investigation into alleged terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversio, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony.

The NEC notes with grave concern that rather than extending the apology demanded by the Congress for the earlier invasion of its national headquarters by security agencies, the Nigeria Police has chosen to embark on this spurious and fortuitous journey of intimidation, harassment, and witch-hunting. This is nothing but a travesty and a blatant attempt to stifle the voice of the working people and their leadership, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the International Labour Organization (ILO)Conventions 87 and 98.

In light of this, the NEC of the NLC resolves as follows:

We Shall Honour the Invitation: As a responsible labour centre committed to the rule of law and due process, the NLC shall honour the invitation extended to its President by the Nigeria Police but will demand for extension of time given the nature of the invitation. However, we wish to state unequivocally that this does not in any way legitimize the baseless allegations levelled against him.

Condemnation of the State's Actions: The NEC strongly condemns the continued harassment of the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress and other Labour leaders. We view this as a calculated attempt to weaken and destabilize the labour movement, which has always stood as a bastion of democratic principles and the voice of the Nigerian masses.

Call for the State to Desist: The NEC warns the state to desist from its evil intentions and stop the ongoing witch-hunt against the leaders of the Congress forthwith. The Congress will not sit idy by while the rights and freedoms of its members and leaders are trampled upon with impunity by the State.

The NEC directs all affiliates and state councils to immediately commence the process of mobilizing their members across the nation. The Congress will not hesitate to take all necessary actions, including mass protests and industrial actions, to protect the integrity and independence of the labour movement. If anything happens to the President of the Congress or any other leader of the Congress in furtherance of these tendentious allegations by the State; NEC puts all its affiliates and state councils to proceed on indefinite nationwide strike action by 12:00 Midnight today.

The NEC calls on all civil society allies and the general populace to stand in solidarity with the Nigeria Labour Congress in this critical moment. The fight against injustice and oppression is a collective one, and we urge all Nigerians to rise in defense of our shared democratic values.

The Nigeria Labour Congress remains resolute in its commitment to defending the rights and interests of workers and the Nigerian people. We shall not be cowed or intimidated by these desperate attempts to silence us. We stand firm in our resolve to uphold justice, fairness, and the rule of law in our beloved country.

The Nigerian Army, IGP must address these inhuman treatments (VIDEOs)

The Nigerian Army and the Nigeran Police are not the court of laws saddled with responsibilities to determine and administrater justices and or punishments.

 The military authorities should act!

According to a report;   2seasons hotel in Kaduna engaged some students in a cleaning job and refused to pay them the agreed wages.
When they requested for their money, soldiers were called to beat and dehumanise them in this shameful manner.
The Hotel is 2seasons hotel and resort. The Cleaners are Beta Glitters Cleaning Services and these are students who are trying to survive.

For the Nigeran Police, such inhuman and dehumanizing treatments are too numerous! It was reported that a #5m naira fine awarded by the court against the police in respect of the woman abused in one of the videos is yet to be honoured.

More Videos police brutality and abuse!!

For the Nigeran Police, such inhuman and dehumanizing treatments are too numerous! It was reported that a #5m naira fine awarded by the court against the police in respect of the woman abused in one of the videos is yet to be honoured.

More Videos police brutality and abuse!!

Misappropriation of Obi's Campaign Fund: At least Six Labour Party leaders detained in Ogbomoso on the order of a corrupt Oyo state LP Treasurer

Misappropriation of Obi's Campaign Fund: At least Six Labour Party leaders detained in Ogbomoso on the order of a corrupt Oyo state LP Treasurer

By Sir Kay

No fewer than six Labour Party's leaders have been detained by the Nigeria's police in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Order of arrest and detention was made by the corrupt treasurer of the Labour party in the State Mr David Abioye popularly know as ABISCO.

According to the reports, in the police custody at  owode station in Ogbomoso north local government area, the Labour Party's chairmen of Ogbomoso south (Pastor Adeyanju Ajala), Ogbomoso north (Pastor Nathaniel) and Oriire local government (Prince Adeyinka) are currently been interrogated on an unfounded allegations levelled against them.

Others include Mr Dayo (Ogbomoso north youth leader) Mrs Adebayo Kehinde (women's leader, Ogbomoso north) and two other labour Party leaders.

The Campaign money and materials meant for Ogbomoso Zone of the state was never delivered to the appropriate and designated chairmen and party leaders.

It should be noted that the Labour Party's leadership of Hon. Sadiq Atayese led EXCO is daily becoming unpopular and unacceptable due to what many members termed dishonesty of the said leadership.

Reaching out to Comrade Dele Abiola who is the LP House of Rep candidate for Ogbomoso federal constituency II on his public phone number, he has neither pick nor returned any of the calls.

It's hopeful that this kind of rancors will lead to solidification of the party in the state as the bad eggs like ABISCO must be shown an exit door from the party leadership hierarchy.

Ismail Dauda: How to be a police officer!

Ismail Dauda: How to be a police officer!

The value a society places on the philosophy of service to the nation no doubt influences an individual’s decision to work for his or her fatherland. The first prime instinct of man and necessity for human survival is that man works to earn a living and be able to feed himself and his family. The type of job, prestige and benefits attached to it are of secondary consideration. But, when it extends to the consciousness of the fact that one is serving one’s country, service then becomes a thing of noble and national pride. Of course, the first set of people imbued with this consciousness are members of the Armed Forces, and others in that category.

Understandably, the Armed Forces depict the defence and security of the nation. To them – and, rightly so – since their service to their country is to defend its existence and survival, they quickly align their philosophy or thinking with preserving its integrity and unity. That being an infectious thing really, how one now serves conscientiously matters. In other words, how to serve worthily as an enforcer of the law is never to lose sight of the central ingredients of the State, because, again, the existence of the State is to ensure that lives and property of its citizens are protected. To do this, any threats or inhibitions within and outside the country must be exterminated. Men and women who carry this burden of ensuring the security and safety of the country deserve to be celebrated; and sincere gratitude shown to them on account of their choice.

A time like this reminds one of Ismail Dauda, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSO) and, currently, the _Chief Security Officer_ (CSO) to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State. From discreet investigations, CSP Dauda will be retiring from active service on November 1, 2022, after 35 years of meritorious service.

As it is with other professions, there are ups and downs, occupational hazards and tempting options in the Force. For our man, despite the level of corruption and social misgivings in the country, his career accomplishments have again shown that uprightness and dedication to service still pay.

CSP Dauda was born on born on March 3, 1968 in Sokoto, to the family of Dauda and Aishat Alabi of _‘Ile Gbangudu’,_ in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. His father was a police officer while his mother was a trader.  Raised in Kaduna, Kaduna State, the young Ismail attended Army Children School, Dalet Barracks, Kaduna, from 1976 to 1981. Between 1981 and 1983, he attended Government Secondary School, Kurmin Mashi, NDA, Kaduna, before proceeding to Community High School, Akata, Ogbomoso.

He joined the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in 1987 and was trained at the prestigious Police College, Kaduna. His first duty post was in Mubi LGA in the present-day Adamawa State. He attended courses, both at home and abroad. Among them were: Detective Course at Detectives College, Enugu (1990); Promotion Course at Police College, Ikeja (1991); United Nations Peace Keeping Training Course, Zagreb, Croatia (1996); United Nations Human Rights Course, Bosnia Herzegovina (1997); and Combat Operations Course at Police Mobile Force Training School, Gwoza, Borno State (2001); He attained the rank of Inspector of Police in 1998; Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 2005; Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in 2012; Superintendent of Police (SP) in 2016; and Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) in 2021.

During his 35-year-long service in the Force, Ismail Dauda, aka _‘Oscar’_ held several Administrative and Command positions, notably: Member of the 21 Squadron Robot Rescue Squad (2000); Personal Assistant to Commissioner of Police, Federal Operations (2000); Inspector-in-Charge of Security at the Israeli Embassy in Nigeria (2001-2005); and Administrative Officer, Diplomatic Protection Unit, 44 PMF (2005-2007). Others include: ADC to the Speaker, House of Representatives (2008-2011); Administrative Officer, Presidential Escort, 24 PMF, State House Villa, Abuja (2012-2015); Unit Commander, 24 PMF Annex, Dodan Barracks (2015-2016); and OC Patrol and Guard Officer, Kano State Command (2016–2018), before his present appointment, in 2018. During the UN Mission in Croatia, he served as its Chief Investigation Officer in the Baranja Eastern Slavonia Sector.

The senior cop has many awards to his credit: _‘United Nations Medal for Peace Keeping in Croatia’_ (1997); _‘Embassy of Israel Commendation Letter for Good and Effective Management of the Embassy’s Security’_ (2005); and _‘Chevron Commendation for the Provision of Effective Security at EGTL, Escravous, Delta State’_ (2006). On December 22, 2021, he got the _‘Commissioner of Police Commendation and Award for Outstanding Performance as CSO to the Governor of Osun State’._

A sports and culture enthusiast, CSP Dauda is a member of the _Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Osun State Branch; International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS);_ and _Nigeria Army Resource Centre._ He is also the founder of _Area 3 All Stars Football Club,_ Abuja. He holds the title of _‘Ararinse Adini’_ of _Almojidu Salam Mosque,_ Irabiji in Osun State.

The retiring officer has a BSc in Criminology and Security Studies and an MSc in Peace and Conflict Resolution from the _National Open University of Nigeria_ (NOUN). He is happily married to Bilkisu, also a police officer. Their union is blessed with 6 children.

From the courses he attended and the postings where he served, that CSP Dauda was a thoroughbred officer was never in doubt. So, one can only hope that government would, with unreserved praise, find means of putting to effective use the wealth of experience and expertise of retired officers who, actually, are not tired. With the security challenges currently devastating the country, the service of seasoned officers like the Ismail Daudas of the NPF should not be lost to mere protocol of retirement!

Back in the Force, there are certain responsibilities and privileges assigned to diverse positions held. Besides, to be retiring successfully is no mean feat at all! The superior officers are watching while the junior ones are not dead to the world either. Being in-between, the demand to be disciplined is also very high. Therefore, one cannot afford to dither or lose sight of the essence of one’s mission. That CSP Dauda has been able to strike a balance between the subordinates on the one side, and the superordinate on the other, means that he has persevered. Is it any wonder that he did not misbehave while working with the political class?

Well, while one is not in doubt that the Police Force will accord CSP Dauda the extant retirement package painlessly, having also served in the State House should attract something. It therefore behoves the government to reward him handsomely for being dedicated to duty, and for his unselfish deeds. This will serve as an encouragement to others who will still serve in that position. It’s also one sure way to prevent desperation. Let’s be realistic, the security demands of the State House are enormous, the least of them being members of the opposition political parties, restive civil service personnel and the _‘we-no-go-gree’_ gangs.

According to Robert Byrne, _“the purpose of life is a life of purpose.”_ Yes, ‘Oscar’ is certainly not a rich man, but he remains a man of integrity. He stands out as a chivalrous and truthful officer who got to this stage purely on merit and professional competence. Evidently, this good man will be bequeathing an unblemished professional career to those who are coming behind. One can only wish him the best!

May the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world, grant us peace in Nigeria!
