The governor provided the details of the meeting to journalists and expressed regret that the Labour Party presidential candidate in the last general elections, Peter Obi was no longer with them.

He said, “Very soon the congresses will happen and the national convention will also take place.

“The other major issue discussed is the revalidation of membership and the registration of new members.

A committee has been set up and very soon that will also start.

“We’ll begin with preparation for congresses that will happen in March, 2026.

“We also regretted the exit of the former leader of the party and former presidential candidate of the party. While we regret the exit, we wish him well.

“We’ve also decided that the party should come together and become a stronger force.

We’ve also lost a few members to defection, even some members of the National Assembly.

But despite all that, this party remains strong.

“We also decided that we need to set up a reconciliation committee. But the interim NWC will advise us on when to set up that committee.

The whole idea is to reconcile every one who is waiting and desires to come back.

“We also appeal to Julius Abule and his team to sheath their swords and come back to the party. If they’re able to subject to the rules of the party, we will be happy to see them back.

“We also want to tell those who want to join the party that our doors are open to receive them.

Finally we regret that we’ll not be able to participate as a party in the forthcoming FCT council elections.”

The Abia State governor, however, assured Nigerians that the party can only grow stronger."

National Leader Of Labour Party, Alex Otti Says LP Will Never Join Any Coalition Ahead Of 2027 General Elections

Alex Otti

National Leader of the Opposite Labour Party and governor ofAbia State Dr Alex Otti has stated that the Labour Party (LP) will never join any coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Abia State Governor said the Labour Party is already a coalition on its own comprising the Nigerian workers and people of progressive minds.

Alex Otti who addressed journalists after the Labour Party’s national executive committee meeting in Abuja on Saturday, said that there is no plan to join any coalition. Labour is already a coalition. This is the coalition of Nigerian workers and people who are progressive like-minded.

“So, I know when people talk about joining another coalition. We have no such plans,” he said.

The LP NEC meeting comes a few days after the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja affirmed the removal of Julius Abure as the party’s national chairman.

The Nigeria's Electoral umpire Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was also ordered by the Court to recognize the Senator Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee as the party’s lawful leadership.

And the Abia State governor confirmed this on Saturday, saying that the electoral umpire had obeyed the court order by removing the name of Abure from its website and had replaced it with Mrs. Usman.

Meanwhile, the impostor and agent of the ruling party Barrister Abure had described the court ruling as unacceptable, vowing to approach the Court of Appeal to seek redress.

Disregard Noises Of Opposition, Gov Otti Urges Abians, Says They Are Gathering For Themselves Not For Abians

Disregard Noises Of Opposition, Gov Otti Urges Abians, Says They Are Gathering For Themselves Not For Abians

Abia State Governor and National Leader of the Labour Party, Dr Alex Otti, OFR, has urged Abians to disregard the recent tantrums and gatherings of members of the opposition parties who had the opportunity to develop the State in the past but failed to do so, stating that they are gathering for their selfish interests and not for the good of the people.

Governor Otti stated this at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church Umuoriehi, the Headquarters of the Abia North Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Umuahia North LGA, during the dedication of the Church building recently reconstructed by the Governor, with his personal fund.

Otti who is the National Leader of the Labour Party in Nigeria described the gatherings of the opposition politicians in the State against him as a failed project, saying that, it is only the empty barrel that makes noise.

"Pastor Uguru made reference to the noise that you may have been hearing in the last few days.

"I want us to just dismiss it as noise, you know, and it's always the empty barrel that makes the loudest noise.

"As for gathering, as recorded in Isaiah chapter 54, verse 15, it says, Behold, they will surely gather, but the gathering is not of me. And since it's not of me, what would they do? They will scatter and they will fall for your sake. That's the holy book.

"And like I've always also said, some of these people speaking have forgotten what is written in Lamentations chapter 5, verse 37. And it's a big charge. Who are you to speak when the Lord has not spoken?

"So, nobody should worry about that. We don't even think we should dignify them with responses", Gov. Otti stated.

Governor Otti said his government would continue to do its works of changing the narratives in the State, which is more important as these politicians are not interested in the people of the State.

"We should just do what we are doing. In everything, they will not talk about you, the Abia people. They are talking about themselves.

"But they are a tiny minority. And God doesn't make mistakes. And he doesn't have an unfinished project. So, I don't want anybody to lose breath or worry about it", Gov. Otti urged the congregants.

The State Chief Executive, who clarified that he did not do all the works in the Church building but renovated an already standing building, explained that he did not do the renovation project with government 's funds.

"It's not correct to say that I did everything. I did a little part of it. The Church was standing before now.

"So, what we did was a little renovation because we wanted it to look better.

"It's also important for me to re-emphasise and I'm sure those who know me, know that government money did not come in here.

"We only use government money for government business. But, because we also have a second address, we're able to do the things we were doing before now. Those of you who have been here long enough will remember that sometime about 2012, that I came here and led the fundraising for the construction of the conference office there", Gov. Otti stated.

The Governor used the opportunity to announce that the activities leading to the commemoration of this year's Armed Forces Remembrance Day have commenced and would be concluded on 15th January, being the the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Earlier in his sermon, the President, Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Abia North - Central Conference, Pastor Kennedy Ihuoma challenged the congregants to be faithful to God in all they do.

Pastor Ihuoma , who titled his sermon "Can I be a Joseph to Interpret the King's Dream", charged believers, especially those in government to be the Joseph of their time, who would be able to interpret the dreams and visions of their leaders, including Governor Alex Otti.

He narrated how the Governor worshiped in the Church and made a promise to reconstruct the Church building, from his personal funds, and was full of joy over the quality of work done in the Church building.

Pastor Ihuoma thanked the Governor on behalf of the Church leadership and members and prayed God to continue to bless him.

The Church dedication, which attracted many dignitaries including the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, members of the State House of Assembly, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, acting SSG, Dr Emmanuel Mereibeole, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D, among others, featured the cutting of dedication ribbon and prayers offered for the Governor and his cabinet.

Two Years in Office, Peter Obi Extols Alex Otti's Achievement's, Says You Don't Need to Tune to Radio to See His Works

Obi/Otti

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi has extolled the achievements of Abia State Governor, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, within 2 years in office, stating that one doesn't need to tune to the radio to know what the Governor is doing.

‎According to the ‎Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor of Abia State ‎Ctz. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, Mr. Peter Obi was speaking during a ‎Special Anniversary Sabbath Service held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Aguiyi Ironsi Layout, Umuahia. He noted that the two years anniversary of Governor Otti is worth celebrating as he has shown two years of impactful leadership with a difference.

‎Obi said: "We have come to celebrate Two years with a difference. People have always said that they need eight years, they need ten years, they need twenty years. But, I've always said that one day can make a difference.

‎"Everybody is seeing it in Abia. You don't need to tune to the radio. You don't need people to tell you. There's a difference. And that's what we're celebrating today.

‎While calling on Abians to continue to uphold the Government of Governor Alex Otti in prayers, Mr. Obi urged Nigerians to pray that God touches the leaders as trustees to always use public funds to serve the people like Dr. Alex Otti is doing in Abia.

"It is difficult to govern Nigeria, especially when you want to do it right. Continue to remember the Governor and the Commissioners who are helping him in prayers. Do the same thing for Nigeria; ‎that God should touch all of us who are leaders. Touch our hearts to use public money for public good. It is not our money.

‎"We are just trustees. Like it's happening in Abia. We want it to happen everywhere in Nigeria.

‎"When I say to people, I'm not desperate to be a President, I'm desperate to see Nigeria work. We want future leaders like him (Governor Otti)," the former Anambra Governor stated.

‎Speaking at the event, Governor Alex Otti attributed all the modest achievements recorded by his administration within 2 years to God who has been inspiring and strengthening him.

‎Governor Otti who noted that without the grace of God and his enablement, all his vision for the State would not have been made possible.

‎"I think, it's 1 Corinthians 3, verse 6, I'm going up to verse 7, and it says, I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God gave the increase. I, in this case was Paul. Paul said he planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase"

‎"And verse 7 goes further to say, neither he who planted is anything, nor he who watered, but God who gave the increase. And that's why we are here, because we know that, we all have worked hard, but then you could work hard and nothing would come out of it, if God doesn't give you the increase and doesn't back you up.

‎"So, because we recognize that everything we have done is of the Lord... so we return all the thanks to him," Governor Otti stated.

‎He used the opportunity to thank all government officials including the legislative and judicial arms for their support for the new Abia project.

‎While also thanking the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi for always identifying with his administration, he equally appreciated the Church for their sustained prayers.

‎Earlier in his message on the topic; "At The Fullness Of Time", the former President, Abia North Conference of Seventh - Day Adventist Church, Pastor Enyinnaya K. Uguru enjoined leaders to be cautious on how they celebrate the present else they loose focus of the future. He  stated that God's purpose manifested in the life of Governor Otti in 2023 after several attempts to become  Governor, adding that "Periods of delays are periods of preparation."

‎Pastor Uguru who said he stopped listening to Government media platforms because of lies, boldly said that the Governor is doing very well. "You are doing well, am saying it because I have evidences."

‎While reacting to the theme of the celebration "Two years of Transformation; Sustaining the Momentum", the preacher said with Governor Otti on the saddle, Abia would continue to prosper. He prayed God to give the Governor more wisdom and understanding for more selfless services to the people.

‎The service which featured special prayers for the administration of Governor Alex Otti and his cabinet was attended by notable Abians including senior Government appointees.
