Oyo State Obidient Movement Calls on Governor Seyi Makinde to Investigate LCDAs’ Alleged Corruption in World Bank-Sponsored Teachers’ Seminar

Oyo State Obidient Movement Calls on Governor Seyi Makinde to Investigate LCDAs’ Alleged Corruption in World Bank-Sponsored Teachers’ Seminar

The Oyo State Obidient Movement, under the coordination of Hon. Dele Abiola, has expressed deep concern over the disturbing revelations surrounding the treatment of teachers enlisted for the World Bank and BESDA-sponsored seminar workshops in the state.

It is now a matter of public knowledge that several LCDA administrators allegedly engaged in corrupt practices by deducting a substantial portion of the stipends allocated to teachers who participated in the program. Shockingly, beyond these unlawful deductions, teachers were further compelled to pay ₦2,500 each to their zonal coordinators as a so-called “appreciation fee.”

An anonymous source also revealed that during the first batch of the program, enlisted teachers received tablets and power banks provided by the World Bank in partnership with BESDA to enhance effective teaching. However, the distribution of these devices for the second and third batches was handed over to LCDA authorities, many of whom allegedly manipulated the process by removing original names from the list and replacing them with others.

Furthermore, when stipends were disbursed to the LCDAs, the amounts meant for individual teachers were reportedly slashed, in clear violation of the program’s guidelines and the principles of accountability.

In light of these alarming reports, the Oyo State Obidient Movement is calling on Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde to urgently investigate these allegations and ensure that any LCDA administrator found culpable is brought to book. Failure to act swiftly, the Movement warns, could tarnish the reputation of his administration and undermine public trust in governance.

Peter Obi Condemns Continuous Closure Of Schools In Abuja, Says Basic Education Is Constitutional Right

Peter Obi Condemns Continuous Closure Of Schools In Abuja, Says Basic Education Is Constitutional Right

The Symbol of Obidient Movement in Nigeria H.E Peter Obi on Thursday condemned the endless closures of schools in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Peter Obi, the nightmare of the rulling All Progressive Congress APC ahead of 2027 said via his social media handle on X (Twitter) that Nigeria is not only a signatory to Millinum Development Goals (MDG) and Sustainable Development Goals which emphatically emphasised Education as a critical development yardstick, but also has as law "Universal Basic Education", which means every child should have access to quality basic education.

Obi said despite these, public primary school pupils have been out of school for over three months due to a strike in the FCT.

He said: "The most critical and immeasurable component of human development today is Education. It is a known and verifiable study that the more educated a nation is, the more developed it is. Consequently, the most important investment and Policy a nation requires is educating its people, especially children, to secure their future. "

"Nigeria was not only a signatory to Millinum Development Goals (MDG) and Sustainable Development Goals which emphatically emphasised Education as a critical development yardstick, but also has as law Universal Basic Education, which means every child should have access to quality basic education. Yet, right here in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, public primary school pupils have been out of school for over three months due to a strike. "

"When the strike began, we all thought, “This is Abuja; it will only last for a day or two.” But here we are, three months later, our children are still at home and we are busy renovating the infrastructure. "

"The foundation of societal development is educated citizenry, not physical infrastructure. True development is about building people. It is about educating the next generation. A nation that ignores its children's education is digging deeper into poverty, insecurity, and underdevelopment. "

"We must prioritise investment in human capital, especially in basic education, healthcare, and pulling people out of poverty. That is how nations grow. That is how we build the New Nigeria that is possible."  -PO said.

VIDEO: “I Was Abducted , Stripped, Tortured After Rejecting N100m Bribe” - NANS President Exposes Seyi Tinubu"

In a bombshell revelation that has ignited nationwide outrage and intensified the leadership crisis rocking the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, the embattled President of the association, has accused Seyi Tinubu—the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu—of orchestrating his abduction, torture, and forced resignation following his refusal of a N100 million bribe.

In a viral video confession released on social media, Isah narrated how he was abducted on April 15, 2025, shortly after filing a formal complaint at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja regarding threats to his life.

He claimed the abduction was politically motivated and part of a broader plot to remove him from office by force.

“They offered me N100 million to resign as NANS President. I rejected it because I was elected by students, not politicians. That’s when they came for me,” Isah declared in the video.

According to him, he was blindfolded, stripped naked, physically assaulted, and taken to an undisclosed location where he was coerced into recording a scripted resignation speech. The video was later broadcast on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), which Isah says was part of a state-backed propaganda effort.

“They forced me to read a resignation script and aired it on NTA to make it look legitimate. It was psychological and physical torture,” he stated, visibly emotional in the footage.

Isah alleged that Seyi Tinubu perceived his student leadership as a political threat, especially after the 125th NANS Convention in Abuja, where Tinubu reportedly expressed disdain for his emergence as president.

“Seyi Tinubu is a bad influence on Nigerian youths. He has no respect for democratic processes or student voices. He’s using the state machinery to silence opposition,” Isah claimed.

His legal counsel, Barr. A.O. Ochogwu, has since petitioned the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services (DSS), demanding an investigation. The petition lists Seyi Tinubu, Olusola Ladoja (a rival factional leader), and unnamed NTA officials as accomplices in the abduction and abuse.

In swift reaction, a support group known as Friends of Seyi Tinubu (FOST) dismissed the allegations as a “desperate smear campaign.” In a press release, the group described Isah as a “self-acclaimed president” and denied any political or criminal involvement by Seyi Tinubu.

“These allegations are baseless and politically motivated. They are designed to tarnish the image of a private citizen who has no role in student unionism,” the group stated.

Meanwhile, students from various tertiary institutions have taken to the streets in protest, demanding accountability. Demonstrators are calling on the National Assembly to investigate the abuse of power and alleged misuse of the state-owned broadcaster, NTA, for political manipulation.

A student leader from the University of Abuja said, “If student leaders can be kidnapped, tortured, and coerced into resignation for refusing bribes, then our democracy is under attack. We demand justice for Comrade Isah.”

As of the time of this report, neither the Nigerian Police Force, the Presidency, nor the Nigerian Television Authority has issued an official statement in response to the grave allegations.

The incident has amplified existing concerns about political interference in student affairs and the vulnerability of youth leaders in Nigeria’s democratic space.

"We are set to spend another 1 billion Naira to further recover our school over the next three (3) to four (4) through direct project sponsorship by old students/class sets and central Endowment fund support. I AM WATER — A Poem by Dele Abiola

I AM WATER — A Poem by Dele Abiola

 I AM WATER

I am water

I'm the delight

Of all kids

To Play with

In all ages

I am water

I am friendly

Quench your thirst

I satisfied wholly

Seasons and times

I am water

Take your bath

Cook your food

At your services

I am useful

I am water

Truly really gentle

Friend to all

I fight none

I've goodly currents

I am water

Stretch out arms

Swim for pleasure

And good health

Swim for medals

I am water

The God's Spirit

Hovers over me

I am live

From the ancient

I'm raining water

Rinsing the earth

For bountiful harvest

I sustained all

Plants and animals

I am water

Abode to endless

Species of creatures

Celebrating in deeps

Operating in colonies

I am water

Easy going always

Never loose guard

Dare me at

Your own perils

I'm 'flowing water

I am resilient

I am persistent

Never give up

Breaking the rocks

I am water

I'm not destructive

Obstacles and refuses

On my route

Are the evils

I am water

of great rivers

Arere and araba

Of rambling trees

Can't withstand me

I am water

In every fight

Destructive fury fire

Overwhelmed by shame

Bows before me

I am water

I spare none

In my path

For I'm water

With forceful currents

I'm deep water

Speaking to deeps

Let the deeps

Drink from roaring

Deep deep water
