APC Government Owned the Terrorists: Nigerian Troops Rescue More Kidnapped Victims, Continue Onslaught Against Bandits in Kwara State

APC Government Owned the Terrorists: Nigerian Troops Rescue More Kidnapped Victims, Continue Onslaught Against Bandits in Kwara State

The Nigerian Army has said it's Troops of 2 Division/Sector 3, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have sustained aggressive operations against bandits in Kwara State, leading to the successful rescue of three kidnapped victims at different locations within the Babanla Forest on Saturday, 11 October 2025.

According to the statement made available to the general public, acting on credible intelligence, troops deployed at the Patrol Base Babanla swiftly mobilised to a suspected bandit hideout and rescued Mrs Oluwabusayo Taiwo, aged 25, and her 3 years old son, Taiwo Irayomide, who were among the victims abducted at Oke-Ode on 28 September 2025.

The rescued victims are currently receiving first aid treatment at the Patrol Base sick bay and will be reunited with their family members in due course.

Also the troops while on routine patrol along a suspected bandit route, also rescued Mr Mohammadu Sani, known as Mai Shayi,* a 40 years old local tea seller from Garkarima. The bandits fled upon sighting the patrol team, abandoning the victim, who was found in a pool of blood. Troops recovered one dane gun and a cutlass from the scene. The victim is currently receiving medical attention at the Patrol Base sick bay.

The Commander, 22 Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Ezra Barkins, commended the troops for their swift response and professionalism, while reaffirming that the Nigerian Army will remain committed towards ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and will continue to intensify operations aimed at restoring peace and stability across Kwara State and its environs

It is on records that insecurities in Nigeria have been aggravated since enthronement of APC leadership in 2015. Beyond Boko Haram terrorism, the country has graduated to multiple non state actors terrorism by bandits , kidnapping for ransoms and Fulani herdsmen killing the defenseless and helpless citizens while the Tinubu led APC gangs keeps imposing taxes, devalued national currency, reduced the purchasing power of the people and keeps the country permanently as the global capital of poverty. The government has also crippled the opposition political parties in the country and silence critics

KWARA SOUTH IS  BLEEDING

Profile picture

APC government came to Power in the year 2015 with empty rhetorics to fight and end Boko Haram terrorism but the party only succeeded in intriduciynore terrorists groups such as the Fulani herdsmen, bandits, megsl kidnapping for ransom and the current group unleashing terrors in the North Central of the country.

APC government has failed in the primary responsibilities of governance, protection of lives and properties but Tinubu led APC gangs only knows how to collect taxes, reduced the purchasing power of the citizens, sharing abject poverty for greater numbers of people.

It is the constitutional duty of the President to protect lives and property — not to multiply taxes while citizens are fleeing their hometowns.

You cannot build national prosperity on insecurity.

When people abandon their homes, farmlands, and local economies out of fear, the foundation of governance collapses.

Security is not just a moral duty — it is the economic backbone of every stable nation.

How do you tax a farmer who can’t access his land?

How do you expect productivity from a citizen who sleeps in fear?

Every displaced family represents a shrinking economy — a town losing its workforce, a market losing its buyers, and a government losing its legitimacy.

Yet in this country, the death of Nigerians has become just another statistic — names reduced to numbers, headlines recycled like weather reports.

We mourn for a day, move on by tomorrow, and the government calls it “progress.”

Leadership without security is taxation without humanity.

While the government focuses on new levies and economic jargon, the real economy — the people — is dying in silence.

And those joining this administration to tell us it’s making progress are the worst kind of humans —

soulless defenders of failure.

They are like the Uruk-hai from The Lord of the Rings — bred for destruction, loyal only to evil, and blind to the ruin they serve.

To worsen it, they travel across the world gaslighting citizens —

telling the international community that there is no corruption back home,

while the nation they left behind bleeds from the wounds of theft, lies, and silence.

And the saddest part?

Many of you think you’re supporting your party while all this evil is taking place.

You defend the same system that is destroying your future,

clap for oppressors who wouldn’t spend a second living your reality,

and mock those who still dare to speak.

You cannot measure GDP when the ground itself is unsafe.

Until lives are protected, every new tax is blood money collected from the displaced and forgotten.

A serious government protects first, reforms next, and taxes last.

But in today’s Nigeria, the order is reversed — we are being taxed for a nation we can no longer live in.

Bandits on Rampage In Kwara State, Kill One, Abduct Stepbrother In Fresh Attack In Gbale Community, Face Resistance From Locals

Bandits on Rampage In Kwara State, Kill One, Abduct Stepbrother In Fresh Attack In Gbale Community, Face Resistance From Locals

Profile picture

Armed bandits were reportedly on Rampage in renewed wave of attacks across Kwara’s riverine and forested communities, many of which have faced repeated kidnappings and killings in recent months.

According to the reports on Thursday, Bandits again struck Edu Local Government Area in Kwara State, killing one person and abducting another during an early-morning raid in Gbale community. Different eyewitnesses accounts confirmed that the attackers arrived around 2:00 a.m. but were met with fierce resistance from local hunters and vigilantes, who engaged them with superior firepower.

Overwhelmed, the gunmen retreated toward Bishewa settlement. In Bishewa, the assailants launched another assault, killing one of two stepbrothers in their home and abducting the other.

“They killed Ndako, the elder brother, and took the younger one, Audu, away,” a source told reporters.

The renewed wave of attacks has escalated tension across Kwara’s riverine and forested communities, many of which have faced repeated kidnappings and killings in recent months.

In response, the Nigerian Army has reportedly deployed a full brigade and heavy equipment to Kwara South and parts of Kwara North to flush out bandits from forest hideouts.

According to Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, troops were observed advancing through Oke Ode and Babanla in Ifelodun Local Government Area.

The operation, conducted under Operation Fasan Yanma, also covers the Edu and Patigi councils, where soldiers are combing dense forests frequently used by kidnappers for ransom activities

BOAT MISHAPE IN NIGER STATE: LP Chair Nenadi Calls For More Robust Legislations, Stricter Regulation For Inland Waterways

BOAT MISHAPE IN NIGER STATE: LP Chair Nenadi Calls For More Robust Legislations, Stricter Regulation For Inland Waterways

Sen. Nenadi Usman

The interim National Chairman of the Labour Party in Nigeria Senator Nenadi Usman has called on the relevant authorities to urgently consider more robust legislations and stricter regulation for inland waterways in the country .

According to the Usman, the recurrent boat mishaps in Nigeria, particularly in Niger State, where such tragedies have become very frequent  demand an immediate and decisive action.

The lastest incident occurred at the Malale riverfront in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

The ill-fated boat, carrying about 90 passengers, departed Tugan Sule in Shagunu Ward, Borgu LGA, en route to Dugga for a condolence visit when the tragedy struck.

Initial reports put the death toll at about 29, but has now, regrettably, risen to nearly 60 lives lost.

"It is deeply unfortunate and heart-wrenching that people on a journey to sympathize with others became victims of a calamity themselves."

"This is one tragedy too many, and the frequency with which we record such mishaps on our inland waterways should be a matter of grave concern to all Nigerians."

"On behalf of the entire Labour Party family, I extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the government and people of Niger State, and indeed all Nigerians, on this national tragedy." Nenadi concluded.

INEC Restates Commitment to Inclusivity at North-East Zonal Capacity Building Workshop

INEC Restates Commitment to Inclusivity at North-East Zonal Capacity Building Workshop

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reiterated its commitment to strengthening inclusivity in Nigeria’s electoral process, particularly for women, youth, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Gombe State, Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris, gave the assurance in Gombe on Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, while declaring open the North-East Zonal Capacity Building Workshop for Gender and Disability Desk Officers, held at Custodian Hotel, Gombe.

Dr. Idris acknowledged the role of the Nigerian Women Trust Fund (NWTF) as a key partner in advancing inclusivity, noting that the Commission’s collaboration with the organisation has been instrumental in amplifying the voices of marginalized groups in the electoral process.

Highlighting INEC’s deliberate steps towards inclusivity over the past 15 years, the REC recalled the launch of the INEC Gender Policy in 2014 (reviewed in 2021), as well as the Framework on Access and Participation of Persons with Disabilities in 2018. He further explained that the Gender Unit was elevated to a full Department of Gender and Inclusivity in 2021 to strengthen implementation.

Dr. Idris disclosed that, INEC has also introduced a merit quota for women in recruitment and promotion, including appointments as Heads of Department and Electoral Officers. He noted that during the 2019 and 2023 general elections, deliberate efforts were made to engage young women and PWDs as ad hoc staff, underscoring the Commission’s determination to make inclusivity both policy and practice.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Idris described Gender and Disability Desk Officers as the Commission’s “bridge with marginalized groups,” stressing that they play a strategic role in ensuring inclusivity at the grassroots level. While acknowledging progress, such as the deployment of assistive devices in recent elections, he emphasized the need for more effective distribution to those who truly need them.

The workshop, he explained, was designed to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to drive inclusivity in the electoral process. He urged them to engage actively by asking questions, exchanging ideas, and thinking innovatively.

Welcoming participants to Gombe, “the Jewel in the Savannah,” Dr. Idris wished them a rewarding workshop and a pleasant stay.

Katsina Massacre: Ribadu Must Wake Up, Tinubu Must Step Up or Step Down Says Labour Party

Katsina Massacre: Ribadu Must Wake Up, Tinubu Must Step Up or Step Down Says Labour Party

Nuhu Ribadu should revise his Kuru training manuals

Prince Tony

Labour Party, a major opposition political party in Nigeria has condensed the cruel massacre of the innocent citizens in a mosque in Kastina State.

The Party  in a statement signed by its national publicity secretary Prince Tony Akeni expressed deepest condolences to the families of casualties and survivors of the Katsina mosque massacre, and subsequent mass abduction of innocent citizens by terrorist bandits.

The attack took place last Tuesday August 19 in the Unguwar Mantau village of Malumfashi local government area of the state.

"We also condole with the Acting Governor of Katsina state, Alh. Faruk Lawal Jobe, and other government functionaries of conscience who must be sorely disconcerted by yet another chapter of wanton killings involving 30 innocent Muslims who were shot dead in their mosque during morning prayers, and over twenty others in adjoining homes to the mosque who were locked inside their houses and burnt to death. In addition to this had been the overwhelming urgency of rescuing alive 76 other citizens - men, women and children - who were abducted from the environ and herded away into hell by the terrorists after the dastardly mosque killings. We, as a party, were waiting for progress on the rescue of these citizens before putting out our statement. Happily, we have just confirmed today Thursday August 28 that the mass of abducted Katsina villagers have been rescued."

"A window to the hell-on-earth insecurity nightmares the citizens of parts of Katsina, Middle Belt and similar Northern states are facing in their localities is provided by Mr. Usman Usman, the councillor representing Almu ward of Malumfashi local government council, as follows: "The bandits have decreed that the farmers of these communities will only be allowed to enter their farms between the hours of 8am and 1pm, after which they must vacate the farms or be abducted or killed." Another resident corroborated that despite each farming household previously paying a #10,000 protection fee to the bandits, they still strike at will on regular basis, cart away unchallenged their livestock and in one recent case took five residents with them into their forest lairs; a nightmare that has turned the area and its adjoining districts to a ghost land as people flee in search of peaceful livelihood elsewhere."

"As a political party passionately committed in ideology, principles and empathy to an egalitarian redemption of our country and remaking her into a nation that works for all, the protection of lives and properties, the pursuit of happiness, freedom of worship and livelihood without breach is non-negotiable, in contrast to the pandemic state of insecurity in our country as demonstrated by the traumatizing broad-day horror visited on our Unguwar Mantau people."

According to the statement, since the unfortunate incident last week, Senator Nenadi Usman led Labour Party has been monitoring the aftermath of the coordinated horror through the Katsina state.

"Sadly, while we were still holding our breaths for a comprehensive report before making this official statement, we were apprised further by our party's local humanitarian sentry in Katsina state that less than 48hrs after the chilling assault on the Unguwar mosque, more than a dozen other Katsina communities were seized by freely ranging platoons of bandits and a pay-or-perish levy of #15million naira imposed on hapless Nigerian citizens in 16 communities in that part of our country. This information has since been corroborated to be true by local residents, including a serving councillor of Almu ward, one of the bandits overrun communities. "

"Aggregating these distressing data and gross shortcomings of Nigeria's security governance by the APC led administration, our hearts bleed and our prayers go out to the immediate family, clerics of the attacked mosque, the ransomed communities' leadership and the good people of Katsina state in general. "

"It is incredibly saddening that the deadly assault on humanity, continued regression to stone age savagery in wide swathes of our country by marauding terrorists and their conscience-dead sponsors in government are, by their own admission, well-known to the APC administrations of both late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari and his tourist successor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Yet no decisive and terminal solution by the APC managers of our country appears anywhere in sight. It is even more saddening when you reflect on several factors that ought to have made the Unguwar mosque attack both avoidable and impossible."

More Security Budgets, More Insecurity...

One would ask: how is that possible except in Nigeria? It is only with the ruling APC administration that such paradox is a regular assault to logic and sensibility of the Nigerian people: the more security budgets rise, the more insecurity, violent crimes and killings rise across the country.

Between 2016 and 2022, Nigeria's APC administration under late Muhammadu Buhari burnt US$9.9billion on tackling insecurity in Nigeria. The national defence budget against insurgency, which was US$2.4billiion in 2020, skyrocketed nearly double to US$4.5billion. In 2025, the administration of his successor, Bola Tinubu, jerked this up to an all-time summit of #4.38trillion or #6.57trilliion. In the equivalent period, Nigeria Police budget rose from #783billion in 2022 to #969.6billion in 2024.

The third most populous state in Nigeria with a projected current population of 10.69million citizens spread across its 34 local government areas, Katsina state has produced two presidents of our country, the best ever and also the worst ever before Nigerians woke up on May 29, 2023 to find Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the hallowed seat of their Presidency. These are PDP produced President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua of blessed memory and the first APC President, late Muhammadu Buhari of blistering memory respectively. These are beside countless late and living military generals and political stalwarts, including two-time Speaker of the House of Representatives and two-time Governor of the state, Alh. Aminu Bello Masari.

A cosmo-Nigerian state with a fair spread of virtually every tribe of the country found in it, the Yorubas, surprisingly, are the third most populous tribe in Katsina state behind the Fulani's population of 1.2million citizens, which is itself a distant second position from the Hausas who are about 9.3million citizens. Over these populations, Katsina state is not barren of federal and state government security formations, infrastructures and personnel. Among the many security establishments in the state are the Natsinta Barracks, located on the Katsina-Jibba Road. Constructed in 1973 and commissioned in 1977, it was originally established to accommodate the 82 Battalion which was shut down in Eastern Nigeria after the civil war and relocated to Katsina and is now the home of both Nigeria's 17 Brigade and 35 Battalion, a stone throw from Katsina main city.

The comprehensive representation of security services in the state's condolence delegation to the victims of the Unguwar mosque murders reflects the full presence of government's security apparatuses in the state. These included the state Commissioner of Police, the Commander of the Nigerian Army’s 17 Brigade, the State Director of Department of State Services (DSS) and the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). These were in addition to the state government's components led by the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Abdullahi Faskari, on behalf of the state governor, Alh. Dikko Radda, who has been on a self-catering medical vacation in another part of the planet while his citizens were being mowed down like flies and survivors abducted like livestock into bandit annexed forests.

With the above plethora of security presence, paraphernalia and personnel existing and drawing huge federal and state budget shares from government, why do the free killing sprees and abductions for ransom such as last Tuesday's mosque massacre in Katsina, Plateau, Benue and other parts of the north still happen, almost frequently and at will, without the soulless perpetrators being brought to book and their menace exterminated?

APC, Government of Funeral Delegations

Between the PDP and APC maladministration of Nigeria, in spite of Nigeria's staggering annual defence budgets, police and state governors' security votes, huge parts of which end in the pockets of corrupt sector actors and turn up in the face of the people as private estates, plazas and plush property investments in and outside Nigeria, reports of Nigerians who die everyday are worse than countries in full-blown war and chilling.

In a recent research titled "Economics of Nigeria’s Kidnap Industry," SB Morgen Intelligence (SBM), a geo-crime research firm, reported that in one year alone between July 2024 and June 2025, Nigerian families paid to kidnappers #2.57billion or $1.66million, involving 4,722 victims in at least 997 incidents in which at least 762 victims and rescue participants were killed.

In the five years between 2006 and 2021, the country's cadaver records show that Nigerians who died from terrorist killings were 50,252 committed in 2,288 terror acts, while those who died from other violent crimes - kidnappings, robbery, rape, police brutality, extra-judicial killings and sundry felonies - were 51,425. The combined figure of 101,677 citizen-to-corpse life extermination amounts to a minimum of 57 Nigerians whose lives were violently cut short every single day in the last five years of PDP's and APC's combined maladministrations.

The above figures do not include hospital casualties from pandemic failure of the nation's notorious healthcare system, motorist accidents, malnutrition, infant mortality, suicides and other causes. It also excludes the death records of the four years between 2022 and 2025.

During a comparative four-year period of fierce, no holds barred full-scale international ballistics war which decimated parts of cities between Russia, a major world power, and Ukraine, Ukraine lost 73,920 soldiers and civilians between 2022 and this August 2025. This is according to the _deathometer_ metrics of renowned war research organizations including Mediazona, the Book of Memory Group and Britain's BBC. This comes to 50 persons killed everyday in war-torn Ukraine in the last four years. Nigeria is not at war yet loses 57 citizens per day, seven corpses more than Ukraine, over a comparative period scale. Who says Nigeria is not at war?

Are you still wondering or senselessly outraged that the Canadian government declared PDP and APC as terrorist organizations instead of political parties?

Nuhu Ribadu should revise his Kuru training manuals

The function of the National Security Adviser of a country as large and continentally significant as Nigeria is not wearing starched agbada flying with presidential delegations from one state ceremony of mass burials to the other to deliver condolence speeches on behalf of Tinubu's APC administration. It is also not receiving date fruits from Saudi Arabia for Nigeria's Muslims fasting to Allah with one hand and with another hand receiving millions of dollars to acquire deadly weapons for terrorists and bandits to slaughter our peaceful Muslim citizens dutifully worshipping God in their mosques while, ironically, there are no insurgency death records in Saudi Arabia or UAE from where their nationals sponsor terrorism and bloodshed in Nigeria.

Amongst others, the functions of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, is to obtain, sieve and collate security intelligence in the action jurisdiction of all security arms of the federal government, advise the President on real-time pre-emptive actions and combat strikes that ensure and perpetuate long-term security of lives and livelihood which engender citizen gratitude, not funeral wailings and IDP camp exodus for displaced citizens. If Ribadu has forgotten these functions, he should revise his Kuru training manuals and, if they are outdated as he has become, he should take a refresher course on 21st century counter-insurgency security protocols, crises prevention, containment and management.

As the cliche goes, the principal function of government is the security of lives and properties, and by extension their livelihoods and shelter. If President Tinubu cannot provide the principal function of securing lives and properties of Nigerians, he should sack Nuhu Ribadu, reconfigure his armed services' rank and file and step up his security governance over our citizens or do Nigeria a patriotic favour by sacking himself too.

Killings of over 100 people in Zamfara: deaths in our country continue unabated — Peter Obi

H. E Peter Obi has said the deaths in our country continue unabated as the Tinubu led APC government failed to secure lives and properties and fulfilling his oat of office he sworn to.

Obi made the remarks following the gruesome murder of over 100 people in Zamfara by the bandits, including military men, asking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to accept the inevitable truth and act decisively as Nigeria is at war and saving of lives must be prioritized over infrastructures.

"The deaths in our country continue unabated, as one reads the heartbreaking stories that have become our daily reality."

"With the brutal killings of over 100 people in Zamfara, including our revered military men, Mr. President, it is time to accept the inevitable truth and act decisively."

"Nigeria is at war. We can no longer afford the dangerous denial. The number of lives lost in Nigeria now mirrors countries at war, and the death in our own country even happens more often than in countries at war."

"We cannot continue like this. It is time to prioritise the security of lives over infrastructure projects. Governance must now become about saving lives, not cutting ribbons and headlining ceremonies on front pages."

"Every child buried, every soldier slain, every Nigerian abducted, is a loud cry that leadership must hear. The true measure of leadership is not in the number of roads built or bridges commissioned, but in how many lives are preserved, how many families sleep in peace, and how many communities thrive without fear of bandits."

"This is no longer about politics, it is about the survival of Nigerians. The soul of our nation is bleeding, and only true leadership can save our dear country."

GENOCIDE IS NOT COMMUNAL CONFLICT: PRESIDENT TINUBU’S RESPONSE TO BENUE KILLINGS FALLS DANGEROUSLY SHORT

GENOCIDE IS NOT COMMUNAL CONFLICT: PRESIDENT TINUBU’S RESPONSE TO BENUE KILLINGS FALLS DANGEROUSLY SHORT

Issued by: Apostle (Dr.) Bolaji O. Akinyemi

Convener, The Apostolic Round Table

The Apostolic Round Table (ART) expresses deep dismay and utter disappointment at the recent statement released by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu via his official X handle, @OfficialABAT, regarding the continued and escalating massacres in Benue State.

While we acknowledge the President’s eventual public attention to what he described as "senseless bloodletting," we reject in the strongest terms the false framing of the crisis as a communal conflict. What is happening in Benue is not a conflict between communities — it is genocide, perpetrated by well-armed terrorists against indigenous peoples, with the complicity of silence and inaction at the highest levels of power.

The President's directive to security agencies to “arrest perpetrators on all sides” is an unfortunate mischaracterization that equates invaders with victims, terrorists with communities defending themselves, and criminals with casualties. Such ambiguity is not only irresponsible but also emboldens those who thrive on impunity and bloodshed.

The continued reference to “dialogue and reconciliation” is tone-deaf and ill-timed. You cannot negotiate with killers while they are still holding the machetes. You cannot ask people to reconcile with those who have turned their homes into graveyards.

Mr. President, as Commander-in-Chief, your duty is not to mediate between life and death. It is to defend life. Your response has not only fallen short of your mandate; it reeks of either deep ignorance of the “underlying issues” or a troubling political mischief that sides with neutrality in the face of evil.

We therefore make the following demands:

1. Immediate military intervention in all affected Benue communities with clear rules of engagement to protect civilians.

2. Public identification and prosecution of known perpetrators and their sponsors.

3. A national security address from the President with a detailed and time-bound roadmap to end the genocidal attacks across Nigeria’s Middle Belt.

4. A halt to further gaslighting and false equivalence in government statements concerning acts of terror.

Benue does not need sympathy. Benue does not need another committee. Benue needs protection — now.

Should this government continue to treat mass murder with press releases instead of action, the Apostolic Round Table will mobilize a nationwide prophetic and civic movement to demand accountability. We will not fold our arms while our people are buried in silence.

History will judge every leader not by the speeches they gave, but by the blood they refused to let spill. Mr. President, it is time to act like the Commander-in-Chief you were elected to be.

Signed,

Apostle (Dr.) Bolaji O. Akinyemi

Visiting Plateau And Benue States: My Ordeal in the hand of Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia — Peter Obi

Visiting Plateau And Benue States: My Ordeal in the hand of Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia — Peter Obi

Peter Obi

Ordinarily, I would not have commented on this issue, as I have endured far worse situations in my political life since I declared for the presidency, and it continues to worsen as I strive to do things in a civilised and organized manner. The unfolding events demand that I have to start speaking out now.

On what transpired today during my planned visit to Benue State, I am not entirely sure that the state Governor, my dear younger brother, a Reverend Father I deeply respect, is aware of this situation. Having exhausted every possible means to reach him, I am compelled to use this available platform to ensure my message is conveyed.

On Thursday, the 10th of April, I had planned to visit Plateau and Benue State, respectively. Plateau on Sunday, the 13th of April 2025, and Benue on Monday, the 14th of April 2025. My trip included paying courtesy calls to the governors as well as visiting the IDP camps and schools of nursing in both states to give my support.

As is my practice, I reached out to the Plateau State government to inform them of my visit, which included spending the day with the victims at the IDP camp in Bokkos, a visit I wholeheartedly embraced to extend my support, care, and compassion to fellow Nigerians in need. And in his utmost hospitality, the Plateau State Governor graciously permitted.

In a similar vein, I tried repeatedly to contact the Benue State Governor directly without success. I then successfully contacted his ADC who told me that the governor was in a very important meeting and would call me before midnight on the same day.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get that call until Sunday evening when he sent me a message stating he had not been able to reach his principal since the day I called. I was disturbed by how an ADC would not have been able to reach his principal for 3 days.

However, because my visit to the governor was just for courtesy and respect, I decided to proceed with my trip to Makurdi.

Earlier today at 7am, I left Jos, and on reaching Akwanga at about 10am, my security team stopped and stated they received a press statement, purportedly from the Benue State Government, that appeared designed to stop my trip. Curiously while I was still talking with my security team on the issue, the Governor's ADC sent the statement directly to me.

The letter refers exactly to my itinerary which I had earlier conveyed to the ADC directly and to the security operatives in Benue through my own security.

I am forced to remind them, and all concerned, that the purpose of this journey is to support good causes in areas of critical development: health and health education, education and caring for our people in need, and this is what I have done in my private life for years before getting into politics and even while in politics I have continued to do so.

Everyone knew then how I had to get permission from the then President, President Goodluck Jonathan, that I needed to visit Haiti during the earthquake.

I intended to visit a school being built by the bishop in Gboko, a Nursing school and an IDP camp, actions that reflect my genuine care for the welfare of our fellow citizens, and my continuous show of love, care and compassion to citizens who have been displaced.

May God help us as we rebuild our nation and aim to achieve a new Nigeria where we do not politicize everything but allow citizens to exist, and we all should live for the common good for less privileged Nigerians and those in need.

A new Nigeria is POssible.

At least, 60 killed in Plateau State

At least, 60 killed in Plateau State

Plateau State has again become a killing field as the death toll from the recent attacks in Bokkos Local Government Area of the State has risen to 60  following the recovery of 40 more bodies on Wednesday and Thursday night.

NAN reports that 10 people were killed in Ruwi village of the aforementioned local government on March 27, 2025, while another 10 were killed on April 2, 2025, in a coordinated attack across several communities, including Mangor Tamiso, Daffo, Manguna, Hurti, and Tadai.

According to the Chairman of Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDC) Vanguard, Farmasum Fuddang, confirmed in a telephone interview on Friday morning in Jos that additional bodies had been found.

Farmasum said, “We released the statement about the killing of 10 people in Mangor Tamiso, Daffo, Manguna, Hurti, and Tadai on Wednesday morning. Since then, we have recovered 40 more bodies. We even buried them around 7 PM on Thursday using torchlights. It was the community members who discovered the bodies of their loved ones,” the BCDC chairman disclosed.

The tragic incident, allegedly carried out by yet-to-be-identified gunmen, has left the residents of Bokkos in mourning and fear. Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), responsible for maintaining peace in Plateau State, reported that they successfully foiled attacks by armed groups on several communities in Bokkos LGA.

Major Samson Zakhom in a press statement made available to journalists in Jos, said that the militants targeted Tamiso, Daffo, Manguna, Tadai, and Hurti but were overpowered by the troops. The attackers were forced to abandon key items, including an AK-47 rifle and six motorcycles.

He noted that traces of blood were found along the attackers’ retreat route, indicating possible casualties among them.

“On April 3, 2025, further clearance operations were carried out at Hurti, where troops encountered and engaged militants hiding in the mountainous region,” he stated.

According to him, “The ensuing confrontation resulted in the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol, six rounds of 9mm ammunition, and four motorcycles.

“The troops are continuing efforts to neutralize the remaining militants still at large in the area,” he added.

He further disclosed that: “In a separate operation on the same day, troops of Forward Operating Base (FOB) Gashish conducted a search at a hideout in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State, recovering a fabricated revolver rifle, 7.62mm ammunition, and a significant sum of cash, although the suspects managed to escape.

“Additionally, in Wase LGA, troops, in collaboration with local vigilantes, neutralized one bandit and recovered an AK-47 magazine and a motorcycle during an operation targeting bandits along Kampani Zurak Road.

“Operations will continue as part of the ongoing efforts to safeguard communities in Plateau State.”

At the time of filing this report, neither the OPSH nor the Police had provided any official casualty figures from

the Bokkos attacks.

Meanwhile former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed deep concern over the recent spate of attacks in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

He lamented the incident where several communities were thrown into mourning following the killing of entire families in what he described as “yet another senseless attack.”

In a statement issued on Friday via X, Obi condemned the incident, which affected five communities in Bokkos—Mangor Tamiso, Daffo, Manguna, Hurti, and Tadai—saying the victims, including children and pregnant women, were buried in mass graves.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
at a Ramadan rally with her constituents

The Nigeria's electoral body has said the petition for the recall of the Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has not met the requirement of Section 69(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

According to a press statement by the body, signed by its National Commissioner and Chairman, Information & Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun mni, the Commission held its regular weekly meeting today, Thursday 3rd April 2025. Among other issues, the meeting considered and approved the report of its physical count of the signatures/thumbprints forwarded with the petition for the recall of the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, in line with Clause 2(b) of the Regulations and Guidelines for Recall 2024.

The Commission had assured Nigerians that it would handle the matter with fairness to the parties involved and in line with the provisions of the law and our Regulations and Guidelines. First, we ensured that the petitioners complied with the requirements for the submission of the petition. Secondly, we notified the member sought to be recalled in writing, copied the presiding officer of the Senate and simultaneously published the notice on our website. Thirdly, we informed Nigerians that the next step would be to carefully ascertain the number of signatures/thumbprints to ensure that the petition complies with the requirement of the law. This exercise has now been completed.

For emphasis, a petition for the recall of a Senator must comply with the provision of Section 69(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) which requires the signatures of more than one-half of the registered voters in the constituency. The total number of registered voters in the Kogi Central Senatorial District is 474,554. More than one-half of this figure (i.e. 50%+1) is 237,277+1 which is at least 237,278 voters.

Across the 902 Polling Units in 57 Registration Areas and five Local Government Areas that make up the Senatorial District, the Commission ascertained 208,132 signatures/thumbprints from the submission made by the petitioners. This translates to 43.86% of the registered voters which falls short of the constitutional requirement by 29,146 signatories.

Consequently, the petition has not met the requirement of Section 69(a) of the Constitution. Therefore, no further action shall be taken on the recall of the Senator.

In line with the provision of Clause 2(d) of the Regulations and Guidelines for Recall 2024, the Commission has issued a Public Notice to that effect which is also copied to the presiding officer of the Senate.

The Public Notice, along with a summary of the review of the signatures/thumbprints of the petitioners, which are disaggregated by Local Government Areas, are available on our website and social media platforms for public information. The statement concluded.

Akpabio Hires Yahaya Bello to kill me, to makes sure my killing doesn't happen in Abuja — Senator Natasha Tells Constituents (Video)

"Akpabio told Yahaya Bello he should try and kill me, and he should make sure that the killing me doesn’t happen in Abuja; it should be done here (Kogi) so it will seem as if it is the people that killed me here," Senator Natasha alleged as she addresses her constituents.

Against all odds, with the government banning convoys, Natasha defied the obstacles and arrived alone by helicopter. Even when the local government imposed a curfew, she simply walked home, welcomed by the warm embrace of her people. History will remember her courage and resilience.

Yet, in this story of defiance and triumph, another figure stands out—Natasha’s husband. When someone he once considered a friend, the Senate President, attempted to flirt with his wife, disrespecting both of them, he did not stay silent. When Natasha confided in him about how SP was making life miserable for her, he took action. He flew to London to confront the very man he once recommended for a position—someone who, when it mattered most, chose power over loyalty.

But through it all, he stood unwaveringly by his wife. He chose family over politics, integrity over betrayal.

Alleged N178.8m Fraud: Court Adjourns Re-arraignment of Cooperative Society Executives till May 29

Alleged N178.8m Fraud: Court Adjourns Re-arraignment of Cooperative Society Executives till May 29

Justice Sharon T. Ishaya of Federal High Court, sitting in Jos, Plateau State, on Thursday, March 27, 2025 adjourned until May 29 and 30, 2025, the re-arraignment and trial of Secretary and Chairman of Covenant Fadama Multi-purpose Cooperative Society, Jos, Okewole Dayo and Bishop Katung Jonas.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is prosecuting Dayo, Jonas, and late Mamman Irmiya Jatau on a 23-count charge, bordering on conspiracy, obtaining by false pretense and money laundering to the tune of ₦178,885,000 (One Hundred and Seventy-Eight Million, Eight Hundred and Eighty-five Thousand Naira).

The adjournment followed the amendment of the charges by the prosecution and the need for the defendants to study the alteration before taking their pleas.

As proceedings commenced, defence counsel C.I. Nwogbo, representing the first defendant, and G.G. Aji, representing the second defendant, informed the court that they were only served the amended charges in the morning and requested time for their clients to study the new charges before responding.

“My Lord, we were only served the amended charge at 9am today. We believe we ought to have received it earlier so that our clients could review the charges against them. In these circumstances, we are applying for an adjournment to allow the first defendant to study the charges and prepare his response,” he said.

In his response, prosecution counsel, Ibrahim Buba, explained that the only change in the charges was the removal of Dadin Kowa Microfinance Bank, since its licence had been revoked by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, stating that the Commission needed to satisfactorily confirm the bank’s status with the apex bank before filing the amendment. He urged the court to proceed with the arraignment since the defendants are familiar with the previous charge, which included the bank, since about two months ago.

“My Lord, the reason for filing the amended charge a day before the scheduled arraignment was because we had to write to the CBN to confirm the status of Dadin Kowa Microfinance Bank, and subsequently amended the charge to remove the bank. Apart from this change, the charges remain largely the same,” he said.

Justice Ishaya, however, ruled that arraignment was an integral part of a fair trial and that the defendants must be given adequate time to prepare their defence. She adjourned the case till May 29 and 30, 2025, for re-arraignment and commencement of trial.

The defendants allegedly lured unsuspecting members of the public to invest in their fraudulent cooperative society and allegedly transferred the proceeds of their crime to various banks which later withdrew through their proxies for acquisition properties in Jos and Kaduna.
