Rakiya Umaru, a resident of Kofa/Maikadiri village told DAILY POST that, the militants who stormed the villages drove with vehicles mounted with guns and some of them riding on motorcycles.
“They were shooting sporadically, forcing us to scamper for safety in the nearby bushes.”
It was also gathered that troops stationed at a nearby base along with vigilante and local hunters engaged and repelled the attack after about an hour of exchange of gunfire.
“The response from security operatives forced the militants to retreat. However, they have burnt some houses and looted food items from the village”. Another resident, Dauda Shawulu said.
Kofa/ Maikadiri is located at the border of Michika and Askira Uba.
