International Friendly: Nigeria 1-0 Egypt

The international friendly match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Pharaohs of Egypt ended in favour 1:0 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Nigeria.
Paul Onuachu puts Nigeria on the lead in  first half of the match which happens to be his first start for the Super Eagles.

All the attempt by the Pharaohs to equalise the tally proved abortive as they are unable to dismantle the Super Eagles defence line as Arsenal's Alex Iwobi nearly doubles Nigeria lead but his weak effort was saved by the Egypt goalkeeper.

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr made five changes to the side that defeated Seychelles 3-1 on Friday with the quintet of Leon Balogun, Daniel Akpeyi, John Ogu, Moses Simon and Paul Onuachu coming into the starting line-up.

Nigeria XI vs Egypt: Akpeyi, Shehu, Ekong (C), Balogun, Collins, Ndidi, Ogu, Simon, Iwobi, Henry, Onuachu

67 minutes into the match Seyi ajayi replaces the injured Ogu, Iwobi off for Etebo 73 minutes and 87' Odion Ighalo replaces Onuachu.

90+4 Udoh takes the place of Moses Simon.

The Egyptians were without their top star Mohamed Salah for this game with head coach of the side Javier Aguirre tried new players ahead of AFCON 2019.

The last time Egypt faced Nigeria away from home was in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.  The Pharaohs managed to secure a last-gasp draw following a Mohamed Salah strike to go on and beat Nigeria 1-0 in Alexandria and qualify for the AFCON for the first time since 2010.

Egypt drew 1-1 against Niger in Niamey in their last game last Saturday
