#AFCON2019: Nigeria through to round of 16 as centre back Kenneth Omeruo scores for Super Eagles

Nigeria's Super Eagles are through to the round of 16  after defeating Guinea in their second group B match on Wednesday in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Eagles' centre back Kenneth Omeruo scores the lone goal against the Guinea's national team who have only secure a point in their opening match.

Luckily Kenneth Omeruoh scored his first international goal for Nigeria today to secure the needed victory, which is also icing on the cake for his stellar performance as the Eagles are  through to Round of 16 even with one game in hand against Madagascar

Guinea’s unexpected 2-2 draw against debutants Madagascar on Day 1, for which both teams shared a point each, means any team that gets six points in Group B would most certainly progress to the knockout rounds.

Eagles, who started out with a 1-0 win over Burundi in their opener, are through to the next round after they secure maximum three points against the Syli Nationale of Guinea on Wednesday in one of the Matchday 2 fixtures in Group B.

Meanwhile, Guinea topped their qualifying group ahead of Côte d’Ivoire. They qualified for AfCON 2019 with an unbeaten qualification record (P6 W3 D3 L0), topping a group that also contained Ivory Coast, Central African Republic and Rwanda.

The Super Eagles are the first team to qualify for the round of 16 in the ongoing Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations . Thanks to a 73rd minute header from Kenneth Omeruo.
