Barrister Hassan served as the chairman of the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board during Aregbesola's tenure as Governor in the State of Osun.
The former Governor said: "I congratulate the newly appointed Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Barrister Zikrullah Hassan. I pray for Allah's guidance over you as you steer the ship of the commission."
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari had last week in a letter recommended to the Senate, Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan as chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for Senate approval.
Hassan from Osun State, representing South West, was recommended along with 15 other nominees, according to a letter by Buhari to the Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
Hassan is a lawyer and chairman of the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board under the former governor Rauf Aregbesola, he has also served as Amir-ul-Hajj.
