| Sowore Dansuki |
Also Organised labour commending the Buhari led Federal Government for the release of the duo (Sowore and Dasuki) from detention. Even a member of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) National Executive Council (NEC), Comrade Issa Aremu, said in in a statement yesterday, that “It is remarkable that the DSS has finally complied with the court orders directing it to release some detainees and “with this singular move, it should be assumed that the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has resumed duties as the country’s chief law officer."
It is shameful for both CAN and Labour Unions to have jumped out in praising the lawless leader who eventually yielded to the court orders after pressures from both within and outside the government and outside Nigeria.
If members of APC should roll out in drums and dancing in singing praises of the their preferred dictatorial leaders despite been outdated and archaic to both leadership style and Democratic tenets of this present age, one will just wave it by with mere thought that they needed to be partisan, but for the representatives of Christian Bodies and organised Labour leaders who all kept quite when the regime was illegally disobeying the court orders (both Federal High Courts and ECOWAS court's orders), it only show who they are, the Nigeria of their dreams, and that they are collaborators with the destroyers of basic human rights and Nigeria state.
It is high time Nigerians stopped taken these hungry bodies serious.
The leaders that fragrantly disobeyed the laws deserved no respect, either in the secular, religious and organisational settings.
The kind of CAN and Labour leadership who now joined Femi Adesina, Garba Shehu (both SSAs to president) and Abubakar Malami who defended anything even against their consciences unless received letters from US senators and Reps before obeying the court orders can not be reliable and trusted anymore.
President Muhammadu Buhari should apologise not only to those he detained illegally but to the Nigerian state as whole for not upholding the constitution of the land as promised during the oath of office.
Relevant sections of the Nigerian constitution mandated the appropriate authorities to tender an unreserved apology for illegal detentions.
The section 35 of Nigerian constitutions: “Any person who is unlawfully arrested or detained shall be entitled to compensation and public apology from the appropriate authority or person”; Subsection (6) states that “the appropriate authority or person” means an authority or person specified by law.
Because of his illegalities in office, many Nigerians who are followers of the detainees, especially that of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria Ibrahim Zakzaky where murdered.
A senior Police officer (a DPO) and a youth corp member serving with a news media were also killed during the last protest in Abuja before Buhari could allowed the Shiite leader an oversea treatments in India.
Deji Adeyanju was beaten to stupor by the regime sponsored counter protesters in Abuja in the presence of the police officer who must seek cautions because of the order from presidency.
Nigerians must be critical of our leaders at all level not only in government but in the labour and religion unions who are always abetting and approving the illegalities of the power that be.
Discipline and integrity entails that Buhari should always endevour to obey the court orders, if truly he is what he claimed to be, never believe him.
Agba Jalingi and many unknown others in your illegal detention should be released.
The rules of law dictates that both the leaders and followers including the police and other security and law enforcement agents should act according to the law and obey the law.
Buhari and the entire presidency as well as the collaborators should know that it is illegal to pursue legality in a state of illegality which they have created, as you need to lead by examples.
Nigeria constitution never say an elected representative, President inclusive must finished their term of office if not leading well, hence the Sowore Revolution Now protest in whatever any meaning you give to it is justifiable.
