The judiciary committee panel approved the impeachment articles on two party line votes following a surprise decision late Thursday evening to delay the final votes until Friday morning, which prompted both parties to point fingers at one another.
Democrats and Republicans in the Judiciary Committee voted along strict party lines, 23 to 17, to approve two articles of impeachment against the president.
Afterward, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham released the following statement Friday morning:
"This desperate charade of an impeachment inquiry in the House Judiciary Committee has reached its shameful end. The President looks forward to receiving in the Senate the fair treatment and due process which continues to be disgracefully denied to him by the House."
Also before Friday morning's vote, President Trump tweeted:

The Republicans House members were fantastic yesterday. It always helps to have a much better case, in fact the Dems have no case at all, but the unity & sheer brilliance of these Republican warriors, all of them, was a beautiful sight to see. Dems had no answers and wanted out!
