The newly appointed interim coordinator of the Obedient Movement in Oyo State Sir Dele Abiola has said revamping of the Obidient Movement in Oyo State, ensuring a formidable front for future elections in Oyo State and Nigeria are the primary focus, adding that different groups in the State will not be neglected.
Dele Abiola in an exclusive phone conversation with this medium said coalitions for Peter Obi, Peter Obi Support groups, BIG TENT, Obedient Assembly and all interested group within Oyo State will be brought together.
He stressed that : "Our outing since 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections, Governorship and State Assembly elections as well as the local government election for chairmanships and councilorship elections in Oyo State are abysmally enough for us to chat an alternative route ahead of any future elections".
The teacher of political Science said the essence of political group and and formation at this level is to contest in elections, win and form government or at worst have our members in the legislatures both at the State and at the National Assembly.
"We are concerned about forming a formidable group and leaders whose primary interest will be to win elections. H. E Peter Obi has consistently reiterated and demonstrated his desires and readiness to lead the country into a New Beginning. Our mañdate here in Oyo State is to do all that maybe necessary at ensuring our victory."
"We will work with all and sundry, only that any room for negotiating our interests out to any bidder fir that matter will be permanently closed. 2023 general election was very clear eye opener." He said.
Comrade Dele Abiola, a former student union leader contested the 2023 general elections for House of Representatives seat on the platform of Labour Party (LP) in Ogbomosho Constituency II where he recorded highest votes for the party in the entire State notwithstanding contesting against the formidable structurs of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Alao Akala.
