The Symbol of Obidient Movement worldwide H E Peter Obi who is also a key figure in the ADC coalition, has announced his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election and not running mate to anyone.
Peter Obi while on live interview program on Channels emphasized that he will not consider a running mate position, instead focusing on becoming the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, expressing confidence in his qualifications for the presidency, reaffirming his commitment to leading the Country .
“Seun, I don’t believe in assumptions. I am part of the Coalition that will produce a competent president with the capacity & the compassion to save this country.”
"I have never worked for any government before I became governor.
I did not work for Abacha, I have never met him. We only reported issues about the port and we were asked to decongest the ports.
Everything lasted about 2 weeks"
"Working with ADC coalition not anti-party"
“We at the ADC coalition have all agreed to work together ahead of the 2027 election".
"Nobody has discussed being Atiku’s running mate with me, he adds. “I am going to run for president,” Obi said".
Seun Okinbalonye: Considering your reputation, don’t you think it’s contradictory for you to want to work with those who Nigerians believe failed when they were in govt?”
Peter Obi: Seun, to make progress, you need the experience of those who have failed and those who succeeded.
Today we have a country without compassion. In December 18 several children died in Ibadan, On 19 Tinubu flew to Lagos for Christmas holiday, I will not do that, I will go to Ibadan & lool for their parents & cry with them.
We will use all lawful means to remove Tinubu come 2027.
Seun: If you become president, will you release Nnamdi Kanu?
Peter Obi:
Honestly, Seun, I still don’t know the exact reason why Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and has been detained till now. I’ve tried to find out what offense he committed, but I haven’t seen anything specific. Some say it’s because of the strong language he uses. Seun, go and check what he has said about me—he has called me all sorts of names and accused me of many things. But that doesn’t bother me, because I know those things don’t reflect who I truly am. So, I don’t take them personally. That’s why I find it difficult to understand the reason for his arrest, let alone why he’s still being held after all this time.
