The Commander Corps of Signals (CCS) Major General Nosakhare Ugbo today decorated two of its officers, Major A Shuaibu and Major JM Uweh, who benefited from the recent promotion of Captain to Major.
According to a statement signed by Major DO Aluko who is the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army Signals, the ceremony, held at the Commander Corps of Signals Conference Room, Murtala Muhammed House, Arakan Cantonment, Lagos, was attended by senior officers, soldiers, families, and well-wishers.
In his remarks, Major General Ugbo congratulated the newly promoted officers and their families. He emphasized the significance of their new ranks and urged them to uphold discipline, courage, and professionalism.
Major General Ugbo charged the officers to demonstrate strategic and critical thinking in their leadership, saying, “As senior officers, you are now expected to exhibit exceptional leadership standards and professionalism.”
In a vote of thanks, Major A Shuaibu, on behalf of the newly decorated officers, thanked the Chief of Army Staff for the promotion and pledged to uphold the Nigerian Army’s standards and professionalism.
Highlights of the event included the official decoration of the officers with their new badges of rank, assisted by their spouses and family members. The occasion was also marked by words of advice and goodwill messages from senior officers.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Brigadier General AA Yussuph, Director Nigerian Army System Development Centre; Brigadier General SA Emmanuel, Chief of Staff HQ Nigerian Army Signals; and commanders and directors of signals units.
