The Ogun State Chapter of the Labour Party, loyal to the Interim National Executive Council (INEC) led by Senator Nenadi Usman, has unequivocally dissociated itself from the purported ward and state congresses being planned by certain unscrupulous elements within the party.
This position was reached during an emergency online meeting of the State Interim Executive Committee and other critical stakeholders held on Saturday, November 30, 2025.
The meeting resolved as follows:
1. *Total Dissociation from Illegitimate Congresses:* The Ogun State Labour Party completely dissociates itself from any planned congresses by individuals loyal to the sacked National Chairman, Mr. Julius Abure, whose tenure has long expired. We declare such activities as illegal, unconstitutional, and not recognized by the legitimate leadership of the party.
2. *Rejection of APC Infiltrators:* The party in Ogun State has resolved that it cannot and will not work with individuals such as Mr. Arabambi Abayomi and his cohorts, who are publicly known to be acting as agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) within the Labour Party. Their actions are aimed at destabilizing our party and undermining its integrity.
3. *Condemnation of Transactional Politics*:The gathering of these individuals planning the illegitimate congresses comprises transactional politicians of questionable intent. Their allegiance is not to the ideals of the Labour Party but to their personal interests and their patrons in the APC.
4. *Guidance to Party Faithful* Consequently, all loyal members of the Labour Party in Ogun State are hereby directed to disregard any information or directives emanating from these factions. Members are urged to remain vigilant and only recognize official communications from the Ogun State Executive Committee, which operates under the authority of the Nenadi Usman-led National Interim Executive Committee.
5. *Future Congresses*: Information regarding the legitimate and officially sanctioned nationwide congresses will be communicated to members at the appropriate time through the proper channels.
The Ogun State Labour Party calls on its teeming supporters, the general public, and all relevant institutions to ignore the activities of these unscrupulous elements, as their actions are null, void, and of no effect.
