Labour Party Submits New Dates For Ward, Local Government, State Congresses, National Convention To INEC


The opposition Labour Party has submitted new dates for the Ward, Local Government, State Congresses and the National Convention of the the Party to the Nigeria's electoral umpire the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).


According to the new schedule sent to the INEC by the Senator Nenadi Esther Usman led National Working Committee of the party for theq congresses and national convention, the Ward and Local Government Congresses will hold on 26 and 28th March, 2026.


The State Congress is scheduled for 31st March, 2026. The National Convention will  hold on the 11th of April, 2026.


While the party leadership scheduled the congresses and the National Convention, reliable sources confirmed that the Julius Abure and Alhaj Lamidi Apapa camps are also orchestrating plans to stage a comeback through the Congress.


One of the source informed that some of the states Chairmen loyal to Abure addressed his few followers that are still with him that the party was no longer with them but they have only congresses to wait for to stage surprise comeback most especially at the Ward, local and State level.

The ball is the court of Senator Nenadi Esther Usman led National Working Committee of the Labour Party to allow the traders and negotiators to take the party back from them through a back door after years of crisis and legal battles.
