The authentic leadership of the Labour Party in Ogun State, which emerged through a legally constituted and organized State Congress held on, April 25th, 2026, as led by Apagun Olaolu Samuel and fully recognized by the electoral body wishes to address the public and all faithful party members to dissociate themselves from group of meddlesome Interlopers, structures hijackers, and transactional politicians parading themselves as the leaders of Labour Party, Ogun State
The congress was duly monitored and observed by security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission. It followed all constitutional and democratic procedures required for the emergence of state officers. That process confirms the legitimacy of the current executive, of which I, Apagun Olaolu Samuel, serve as State Chairman.
It has come to our attention that a group of meddlesome interlopers and impersonators are attempting to hijack the state structure without participating in the legal and democratic process. This act is not just unlawful, it is a child’s play that damages the image and credibility of the Labour Party in Ogun State. Rejoinders was once written against their petition to the State Police headquarters and Department of State Security when we were not invited after over 60 hours of seeing it published on social media as both of them were witnesses to the processes leading to our emergence and inauguration. Later we were invited by the DSS once, when they realized their claims cannot be substantiated, we were not recalled.
We urge these individuals to desist immediately from furthering a claim on a letter as being showcased by them as a stroke of pen cannot change the mandate freely given through a legal democratic process. The INEC cannot be bought, having played their constitutional role in our emergence. They are hereby advised to stop fanning the embers of division as their childish fantasies are just helping to demarket the party, confuse members, and weaken the structure we are building ahead of 2027p elections. Labour Party Ogun State will not recognize, negotiate with, or entertain any group that bypassed the congress and due process.
We call on all genuine members, stakeholders, INEC, security agencies, and the media to take note and only relate with the leadership that emerged from the April 25th, 2026 congress. Any other claim to leadership is false, unauthorized, and amounts to impersonation.
Furthermore, disciplinary actions to be served on some of the State Working Committee members ,who engaged in anti party activities alongside the impostors are awaiting ratification by the State Executive Committee as the INEC, Ogun State was duly copied and notified of their anti party activities.
Labour Party Ogun State remains committed to due process, internal democracy, and rebuilding the party for the people ahead of the upcoming elections.
