The Pentagon has moved four recently killed American service members and more than 200 wounded personnel out of its main Iran-war casualty count and into a newly created category called "Overseas Operations."
When both categories are combined, publicly available Pentagon data indicates that at least 18 U.S. troops have been killed and 624 wounded since the war began. The reclassification has triggered questions about whether Washington is dividing casualties across separate labels to reduce the apparent cost of the conflict and support its argument that renewed fighting constitutes a different military operation.
Iran totally destroyed the US military bases and assets in the Persian gulf. Personnel casualties are believed to be far more than what the US called declassified.
