A U.S. airstrike has been reported in Iran, targeting a missile base of the IRGC Aerospace Force near Taft, southwest of Yazd in central Iran, early this morning.
Residents in Taft reported a powerful explosion at approximately 03:30 local time, saying the blast originated from the mountains near the Bam-e Taft and Shirkuh area outside the city. Several described seeing a bright flash and a large cloud of dust, with homes shaken by the explosion. Local media reported that the strike was carried out by missiles, with no sound of fighter aircraft heard.
Iranian state television later confirmed that an explosion had occurred outside the city of Taft in Yazd Province.
Elsewhere, Iranian government officials confirmed additional strikes overnight. The Deputy Governor of Markazi Province stated that two enemy projectiles struck a location outside Khondab at approximately 03:05 local time.
In Isfahan Province, the Deputy Governor confirmed that an area in Na'in County was targeted by what he described as an American attack at around 03:00.
Residents in Borujerd also reported hearing what they believed were two consecutive explosions. A subsequent local update, however, indicated that only the sound of military aircraft passing overhead could be confirmed, with no verified explosions reported in the city.
