In a direct challenge to US President Donald Trump’s claim of “total control” over the Strait of Hormuz, hundreds of Iranians and Basij volunteers reportedly took to the water and sailed through the strait.
Several boats were reportedly warned multiple times by U.S. Navy forces, but ignored the warnings and continued their passage.
The move comes as Washington and Tehran continue their competing claims over who controls the strategic waterway.
According to Iranian sources and video footage, Iranian paramilitary volunteers rushed to the strait of Hormuz, after Trump announced that America controls the strait. Despite the US Navy threats and warnings some of the boats continued to sail.
Tehran source also indicates that ships lineup in the Strait of Hormuz unable to pass by.
