OGUN LABOUR PARTY CRISIS ENDS AS NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, NENADI USMAN AFFIRMS APAGUN OLAOLU AS AUTHENTIC CHAIRMAN

...Onabiyi/Sogunle Faction Shuns Abuja Peace Meeting, Gives Flimsy Excuses*_

ABUJA — The protracted leadership crisis rocking the Ogun State chapter of the Labour Party has finally been laid to rest as the National Chairman of the party, *Her Excellency, Senator Nenadi Esther Usman*, has affirmed *Apagun Olaolu Samuel Babatunde* as the authentic, legitimate and competent Chairman of the party in Ogun State.

The historic decision was taken at the Truth and Reconciliation meeting convened by the National Working Committee (NWC) on Tuesday, 20th October, 2026, in Abuja, to resolve all issues threatening the party's preparations for the 2027 general elections.

In attendance were top national officers including Com. Salisu Muhammed (Deputy National Chairman), Com. Quadri Olaleye (Deputy National Chairman, TUC), Hon. Iheanacho Obioma (National Secretary), Mallam Hamisu Santuraki (National Treasurer), Com. Eragbe Anslem (National Financial Secretary), Mrs. Oluchi Oparah (National Organizing Secretary), Com. Segun Akinpelumi (Deputy Youth Leader, South-West), Com. Mazi Ojukwu (SSA to National Chairman) and Hon. Dr. Kingsley Chibuzor Okereke (Presidential9 Candidate), among others.

The legitimate Ogun State Executive, led by Apagun Olaolu, was represented by the Chairman himself, Oloyode Taofiq (State Treasurer) and Olayemi Michael (Chairman, Sagamu LG and Chairman of Chairmen Forum).

In a dramatic twist, the faction led by Alhaji Onabiyi Ibrahim and Dr. Kehinde Sogunle *failed to show up*. No representation, no defence. Flimsy excuses were made for their absence.

"Substantive evidence terminates arguments and establishes the truth," the Publicity Secretary, Kika Glasgow, said in a statement.

According to him, the meeting lasted only 30 minutes because there was no one to defend the petition against the legitimate executive.

After reviewing all facts, documents and evidence, Senator Nenadi Usman took a decisive decision in favour of the Apagun-led executive, putting an end to months of parallel executive and sabotage.

Reacting, the party described the judgment as "a victory for truth, a victory for the rule of law and a victory for every faithful member who sacrificed to build the party."

The party thanked the National Chairman for her wisdom and courage, and called on all members across the 20 LGAs to unite and prepare for 2027, adding that the door of reconciliation remains open for those misled.
