The Oyo State Labour Party under the leadership of Sir Dele Abiola has praised the Abuja Court Judgement that affirmed the position of the Supreme Court Judgement of April 4th 2024 that sacked Julius Abure and affirmed the leadership of the Senator Nenadi Esther Usman led Interim National Working Committee of the party.
Oyo State chapter of the party in a statement by the it's state Publicity Secretary Comrade David Olayiwola Abisoye A.K.A ABISCO said, the state welcomed the Federal High Court 9 Abuja FCT ruling that affirms Abure's sack and orders the Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Nenadi Usmans as National Chairman of Labour Party (LP) in Line with the Supreme Court Judgement of 4th April 2025
Oyo leadership said: " The judgment of the Federal High Court has decisively laid to rest the protracted leadership crises within our great party as the ruling affirms Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, as the interim and legitimate National Chairman of the Labour Party. This represents a new dawn for Labour Party and Nigeria's party politics.
"Justice delay is not justice denied, at last it is a victory for the rule of law, party discipline, and the millions of members and supporters who have yearned for stability and focused leadership in our dear country "
" The entire membership, executives, and stakeholders of the Labour Party in Oyo State hereby extends our warmest congratulations to the interim National Chairman of Labour Party in Nigeria, Senator Nenadi Esther Usman on her affirmation by the Court."
We call for an immediately consolidate of our ranks and integrate all members under the affirmed, legitimate Labour Party leadership and strengthen of party's grassroots structures nationwide.
That statement confirmed that Oyo State Labour Party's leadership and members are committed with renewed determination to channel all energies into building a more stronger and more vibrant party structure at all levels.
The Labour Party's leadership crises are over, on Wednesday 21st January 2026, My Lord ruled that the Supreme Court Judgement of 4th April, 2025 had addressed the issue of Leadership of the Labour Party (LP) in it's landmark Judgement in Suit No:
SC/CV/56/2025.
He further stated that the issue of locus standing does not arise.
The objections of the Defendants cannot succeed.
(1). Questions raised by the Plaintiff are answered in the affirmative.
(2). It is an internal affair of the party conducted by the STATUTORY National Executive Council (NEC) Resolution of 18th July 2025 in line with ARTICLE 13 and 14 of Labour Party (LP) Constitution 2019 as amended and the court cannot interfere.
(3). INEC is urged to recognize the Plaintiff as the ONLY VALID representative of the party and accord her all privileges while accepting all processes and correspondence emanating from same pending the conduct of Congresses and National Convention of the party.
Abure led impostor have before this judgement done an immense damages to the labour Party. It is now the works of the affirmed leadership to rebuild the party from the scratch going forward to 2027 general elections.
